Senior PR-Manager
Karsten Lehmann (http://www.mediabiz.de/games/firmen/people/karsten-lehmann/19824/4081)

They'd do a heck of a lot better if it was GWX's Kpt Lehmann instead. :03:

Maybe we should all do just that. HOWEVER in a POLITE language. No rude remarks or anything like that. That would lead nowhere. And only make the case even harder for us to win.

BUT regular mails in their inbox from thousands of potential customers, I guess it would make them have a new meeting to discuss their decision about DRM and more once again. Any company director ignoring a massive protest would really have ice in his blood and some guts.

It should be mentioned for them that it cannot be good for their future business, if consumers start "ignoring" (replacing another word) their products. They may gain new consumers who are ignorant over the consequences of DRM and who knows nothing about the entire story line behind a game serie. SH5 is after all the 5th of its kind, and quite a lot of us have allready played if not all then most of the games in this serie. For some even some earlier games similar to this. Those of us would be caracterized as the loyal enthousiastic consumers, and to step those on their toes several times and ignoring their wishes, will make them (us) turn our wallet away from their product, and thus they will loose their best and cheapest advertisement: the mouth to ear advertisement.

This is an example of what could be written to them. There's no need for swearing and cursing.

yeah. if you write to a manager, you should not insult or ranting nonsense. cause this is not beeing read. but, if you are writing in a polite manner, it could have an effect...for future games. maybe...but maybe this is just naive.

I've already done my bit - read this thread

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=160830

Use mine as an example to get your creative juices going - but keep it professional, non personal and say why your are annoyed, dont just tell them you are annoyed

There's a lot of phone numbers there too... I'd say some phone calls will be a lot more in your face than emails that can be deleted...

But like Carotio said: Be polite!

Well... judging by the limited reaction on this thread, it seems people are more than happy to rant and complain into the void of the interweb, but won't bother writing or calling ubi

Ehh... we're only 24 hours away from the time when this thread was started up, so there may be some who will do it.
I consider doing it, but then I want to write "the perfect" complaint letter OR have a written note with arguements to mention if I do make a call.

i guess the thread title makes the people think, i just dropped the normal support lines.

We should facilitate people by providing an email form here at subsim, with pre-drafted content perhapps, so that community members can make their voice heard by UBI directly.

I mean there's no point having the ear of the devs if we're not going to buy SH5 with DRM, sorry I meant OBS...or is it KAKA ?

If this idea is a bridge too far then what about a petition where members can simply add their email address. I still think such a thing should come via the SubSim community as a whole though.

the minute you start doing that we are ALL dissmissed as idiots and no ones views are taken seriously.

a few stupid rants can undo any possitive progress we make on convincing them to remove the DRM
