Actually, for the type IX, U505 in Chicago is the boat to go to.

We had a couple of guys go there during development of SH3. They visited the boat by flashlight as the current museum section was being built around the uboat at that time :)

The captured U-505 in Chicago is a Type IX, not sure of any others in a preserved condition.

I don't know this one.

It's a "dynamic campaign". Take that for what it's worth. No one seems to know exactly what that means, or if their pet definition describes the game. From the screen shoots leaked yesterday, there was one that showed a "Go here, sink 20,000 tons" radio message. There seem to be a set of historically based single missions, and there is a campaign that we don't know enough about yet.

4 what does LOL mean when put in a post?

Laughing out loud.

There were 18400 + convoys throught the war
Not sure of the figures just up until 43 but a damn sight more than 250

http://www.convoyweb.org.uk/hague/index.html

Unless the convoys ingame hark back to the generic convoys of SH3\4 where one instance of a convoy " scripted " could run for 6 months or so with the ship totals being determined by random percentages added during " scripting "

You would have thought that only having a campaign that ends in 43 would have meant the devs would have included more convoy routes
UK coastal convoys etc though that would mean having smaller coastal shipping included too and while we dont know the exact make up of merchants included its prolly fair to say the choices will be similar to SH3\4 in number and type
Even though I know they were sent some coastal models that were going to be in GWX4

There is also a IX boat in the UK (Liverpool?).
However, it spent a long time of the seabed and was rusted to hell.

It's been cut into sections so you can see the rust better.
Probably not the best inspiration.
