Trans-Atlantic, Trans-Pacific, VFR flights.

I've decided to reinstall FSX&Acceleration, plus the couple addon's I have for it.

I want to make a VFR flight from somewhere in the USA across the Atlantic to anywhere in Europe. From what I remember(as I haven't had a chance to play yet) the game would not automatically make VFR's across the Atlantic correctly. What's the best way to get a VFR across the ocean?


Also, I remember there being a website(which I no longer have and would like to get again) that would let you look at real life flight plans so you could insert them into FSX. Anyone have this website?

As far as websites go I commonly use Flightaware (http://flightaware.com/), Simroutes (http://www.simroutes.com/fb2/showplans.aspx), and Skyvector (http://skyvector.com/). If I want to fly a real flightplan I copy the route from flightaware and paste it into the "generate routes" section of simroutes. From there you can download it in a variety of formats or file the plan on vatsim.

I don't know anything about trans-atlantic vfr though.

I need Instrument Flight Rules for flights across using VOR to VOR.

Ok, IFR is a little easier to explain. VOR to VOR isn't possible because nobody is going to build them in the middle of the ocean, so instead we use North Atlantic Tracks (NATs) which are a series of Latitude/Longitude waypoints. You can find the current tracks on simroutes and add them too your flightplan then download it into fsx fairly easily. Or, if you're using a aircraft with a programmable fmc you can plug in the data there.

Another question that is a bit offtopic.


I currently do not own rudder pedals, plan on buying at some point. So I use keys 4 and 5 on top of my joystick for rudder control.
My problem is that if I put the Rudder to the left it stays to the left. I remember I had fixed it last time to automatically return to center, but I don't remember how to do it.
Any help?

Hmm, can't say that I've heard of that problem before. You might try changing the key assignments or messing with the "repeat" slider.

I've tried messing with the repeat.

The issue is that the rudder goes in increments instead of fluid. I remember there was something easy to do that fixed it, but I don't remember what.
