Does wind effect ballistics?

Does wind effect ballistics? It doesnt appear so. Ships seem to cease firing the instant they reach their max range, regardless of relative wind. I'd think that with a 47 knot headwind I'd get a hundred or so meters of extra range while firing at an enemy thats pursuing me.

Does a bear * in the woods? of course wind effects ballistics, I'm on the fence as to wether or not its modeled in the game, not really sure that an extra 50 yards would help you that much, anyway, as that would only help shots fired at max range, and we all know how inaccurate any weapon is at its max range.
