Winter and snow.

We have rain drops on the carpet, but as a real rain and snow storm
I have not seen!:hmmm:

Will we get a snowfall?
And a right one snowstorm from one's nose does not see anything, but this makes everything much more interesting.
How do you think about?

..........................

IIRC they said there will be snowfall , not sure about snow storms and blizzards. The deck also will get frozen.
It will be nice to have a diversety in the weather not like sh3.I havent seen a storm in sh5 so far.
It will be quite cool to see waves like those in the atlantic storm in das boot.:D

i think you can forget anything past normal weather.

they said ther wont be any rough sea conditions in sh5 so that should mean no blizards but matbe just heavy snow is the limit

they did say cold weather effects your boat and crew so icing up of equipt. and such should be in the game

Excuse me? I must have missed something most important. Did they really say this? When?
If true, it's the most disappointing news for me, even worse than campaign and type IX.

all in good time , they can implement this late if this is the case not the end of the world.

@Webster - can you point us to the post/article where the developers said there wouldn't be rough weather in sh5?

Let me put it this way. Would you play Need for Speed Shift (let's say) with a car that goes right THROUGH hills and sinks INTO the road, instead of jumping and skidding ON the road, like in real life?
My point is. Each simulation should at least adapt the behavior of the given vehicle to its natural environment. If it's a ship on the sea, then let it behave like a ship on the sea, which happens to be rough sometimes.
I really hoped they would get this fixed by now.

Edit:
Just look what a small game developer company could do in terms of ship's hydro behavior, storm and monster waves:

Amazing, isn't it?

The more you know the more you're getting depressed about this release.. Financial crysis must be surely grabed UBIs balls since latest announced decisions has been made about this simulations.7 type only;War is untul 1943;Weather as in meditereanianYah waiting for more dissapointing news in future. Soon we'll be asking what does Sh5 really offers instead of taking away.

Where the hell does this info comes from?!?!? :hmmm:
Never heard of not having rough seas...
But should it be so, huge immersion "a la Das Boot" killer for me! I just love rough seas and the atmosphere it conveys, and tried many time to mod SH3 or 4 to have way better depictations of stormy sea states! So that would be a very big concern now for me... but frankly, i've never heard of that! My bet would be rather stormy wheather will be in, with big waves but still with problems as to make it believable and threatening, just like in SH3 or 4.

That videos of deadliest catch do show an interestind depictation!

i cant find the link to it but in an interview a question was asked about if we could have trouble using the periscope in rough weather conditions and the answer was something to the effect of we dont have seas that get that rough in sh5.

so i have no firm specific statement on it but by the reference and no video of boats in rough seas (which is a big "wow man thats cool" factor that they would want to show) then i have to go with the implication of no rough stormy seas untill i see or hear something different about it.

it sounds impossible they would do that but so did the idea of a 1 sub sh5 game

I think we can travel the whole of SH5 ocean, or is it a misunderstanding.
There must be a Rough sea and up in Norway, and around the Arctic Circle
Stormy, ice and snow drift.
</SPAN>Please, it says I do not dream!
And that, that it is true ... Please .. Please ..
..................

Don't panic chaps after all if you look at the latest screenshots the sea isn't exactly flat so surely its not much effort to increase the amplitude of those waves, add some thunder/rain, and bingo, we have a storm!

In the Q & A post, from official forum:

04.11.2009

Q: During the storm in the Atlantic, will the stormy features/elements like rain drops, lightning, layers of grey clouds be more realistic than the previous releases of SH?

A: The weather system is enhanced compared to the previous titles; it is now more dynamic and realistic. Expect to see weather conditions correct to the climate zone in which you travel, for the respective season and moment of day. You will face raging blizzards in the North Sea and enjoy the nice weather in the Med, and this will change the way you fight.
