This thread is taking courage to post and I may be laying myself wide open for a "pie in the face". I'm usually game for most things once. I'm a pretty peaceful guy and feel I have brought no offense to any member. Henceforth, I feel comfortable stating:

There are threads for everything under the sun here, and they come in all flavors. How about a

Get it off your mind and chest thread. All posts must be directed at specific individuals. The targeted individual may choose to respond or choose not to, as that is personal privilege.

I firmly believe that the stadium will be filled at all times to watch the players.

I believe that only the best fit will choose to play and post, as it requires a special character to participate.

Postings from nonparticipants is forbidden, as this is not a game based on public opinion, or cheering. Any nonparticipant posting will result in 36hrs. brig time.

I believe this is a valid idea with positive benefit for all members. It certainly is going on in the "pm" arena to which I am also guilty. It would also help cut down on Mr. Stevens bandwidth usage.

This has been done in private industry with beneficial results.

I IN NO WAY AM LOOKING FOR A SERVICE FOR 8 SET OF MUGS, AND TRUST THAT THERE WILL NOT BE A REPLY WITH REFERENCE TO A MUG.

I am not bothered that a small select group of members hold me at arms length, that is their decision and a display of selective character. We all know that to be a part of life. I will add that I have never made a malicious post with the exception of one which I regret very much. All my posts, some of which are ingenious and original are totally innocent with humor blended in. I am a very understanding and learned individual with wizdom based on my life experience.

A certain few as usual will not reply to my post, however I believe I have brought for examination by the tribe an idea worthy of acceptance.

Keep in mind, that the members will see various flavors of character, from the participants that have the courage to post, as well as a chance to view the effect of the various cultures represented here at SUBSIM.

I SAY, LET THE GAMES BEGIN.WHAT SAY THE COURT..........your humble servant, ShipsRus

Thank you for reading carefully.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I hereby rate this thread a zonk due to public opinion

I don't think one is hoist on their own petard, but rather hoist with their own petard. :D

"For tis the sport to have the enginer Hoist with his owne petar".

From the play Hamlet written by some old dead guy named Willie.

Unless your going for the specific Shakespear quote I think either would be accepted.

I am surprised Mr. Stevens has responded in this thread.

I have read in other posts here that if you have a problem with someone. Deal with that person thur a pm, not publicly announcing hey I have a problem with so and so when that is a personal problem between two individuals that should dealt with in a private matter.

That is my take on this.

Interesting read on the petard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petard).

Thanks for sharing.

You're surprised that I have, or have not responded? :)

Actually, I have a lot of confidence in the senior members of this forum, they are good at keeping the peace here, as the first few replies show

With kind regards as to the above mentioned comment on senior members, one does not doubt your confidence, or dispute their standing of seniority, within said community. However sir, might i take this brief chance, to express my preogrative to attest the fairness and worth of (some) these fine fellows. Your comment of which i will confess is to me, as expected, as i trust you certainly believe. but iam hopefull on the understanding that you can easily conceive how sensible an affliction it is to me on reading, entering, responding, to this post. A friend of mine mentioned that their is a game titled AGE of EMPIRES, in that there are "petards" which can be chosen as a weapon for use.

Steamwake: I believe "SailorSteve", the resident "spelling cop" may be on holiday presently, or has been sitting in the donut shop since your last post on this thread, as your spelling of the word "meaning" in that post is almost correct. Your spelling of the word was "meaining". I have no problems with spelling errors, however it must be mentioned that if Neal, with basically no operating budget is going to pay SailorSteve to patrol the site, Neal should not have to pay for the donuts also. SailorSteve is being abusive and taking advantage of Neal.....BAD COP NO MORE DONUTS.

Jimbuna: Thanks for the help with the graphics. I really appreciate your going out of the way ro help me......And yes, you are an authority with reference to "cops and donuts" as you are one.........Good Day of EVENING to All..........The New Ships-R-Us

I do believe Mr. 4Para was attempting to convey his opinion of distaste towards the nature of this thread. But, by God, the man's long and rather incomprehensible post does little to express his point without inflicting much unnessecary confusion upon this thread.

SirSteamwake, so sensible and so good natured a man, my original post will serve as my only necessary remark, as continuous opinions may not be proper to commit to writing. Iam always indeed willing to discuss further, should you wish the need, and indeed feel it somewhat your business. Please feel free to PM me. Thank You and Good Day. :)

Sir Raptor1, Let me simplify, clearly you are mistaken, it is a response, to a difference of opinion, is all, not the thread :) and as for the rest sir, one finds quite remarkable. I dare not to be so sanguine as to hope you take stalk, and leave of your post. :nope:

Ah, then I must have misunderstood you, sir. Do you mean to dispute Mr. Stevens' claims that the members of this board are quite as responsible and good at, quote, "keeping the peace"?One likes to Perhaps think it a step rendered indispensably necessary, by an obedience to your question. Iam very unwilling to give up my opinion as (not all) are worthy of said position or standing. I can only offer my opinions for consideration, certainly not action, but whatever plan you may think proper to adopt for the sake of perhaps unwanted truth, and indeed worth of rank in said community, i shall be most sincerely concerned if you sir raptor should be so circumstanced as not able to provide me or to undertake the execution of it, but as my acting diffrently from your ideas or wishes might in any instances be attented with great detriment to the sub sim service, i shall if asked hoped to be honoured with explicit instructions from Sir neal on all points that will admit them. I feel a particular satisfaction that my decision to admit my opinion had enabled me to act so (lets say) expeditiously with this and i own that instead of guilt, or bold blame, i hope to have merited some kind of approbation, for speaking ones mind, and indeed not patronizing just for the want of recognition or brownie points. That done, like i say many times, a toast "to men whom are not affraid to speak thier minds". Within reason of course. Thank You and Good day:salute:

Sir. I do not posess an opinion on this matter, whichever matter it may be, but rather merely wished to clarify your original post. (1) Sir i did not mention of you posessing opinion. (2) Mere clarification,? come come sir, you promted a question to me of which you seemingly took great intrest, and thus decided to even quote, you tested my opinion and also indirectly asked me to prove my worth to dispute anothers, (Head Shed might i say) opinion. Damn your act sir. :nope:
