I'm very interested in getting Nokia's E52 however after a wekk or so researching on the net I've found a disturbing number of user complaints on the phone.
The problems include even the basic function
1. Freezes, Restart
2. Poor loudspeaker quality
3. Poor signal reception. A person mentioned design flaw that put the antenna on the lower side of the back of the phone where most people hold the phone with their hand and suggest to hold the phone on its upper side. And [if true] I would not buy a phone which tells me where I should hold it while talking.
4. Noise cancellation making user voice to disappear while talking on the phone in a relatively noisy environment hence degradation to call quality even a person or two complained that the only environment where this phone couyld be used is in a completely silent one.
5. Phone becoming dead within hours up to 2 months
6. Slow response
Thus I've looked for alternatives and one is the Nokia E72
However I'm not too fond of QWERTY keypad and I just think that if a cellphone is too big to be put in your pants then it's just simply a hassle.
However the number and severity of complaints coming from users of this phone is less than that of E52:
Nokia E72 problems include
1. Space keypad stopped working after prolong hour of standby without switching off. I know it's stupid
2. Freezes have been reported from a few users
3. Restart have also been reported from a few users.
4. Slow response
The thing is E52 has been out since Late July 2009 and perhaps I could expect improvement to their hardware to fix those annoying bugs and defect but I can never be sure.....the phone store did say that he just got a new shipment couple days ago.
So what do you think should I risk buying E52 which I like more than E72 mainly due to its form factor and its great value considering the price tag and its long battery life? Or should I choose a safer option and get E72 but at the cost of getting a QWERTY phone? I can live with that but I still prefer a classic candybar phone....
However I do like the fact that E72 comes with a great camera(5 Megapixels with auto focus and flash) and it has the same fast 600MHz processor
like the one they put in the E52, it has got an optical trackpad and noise cancellation that so far has not been complained by its users(so I assume the noise cancellation works alright).
Help me with your advise and suggestion!
Would be even better if you share your thoughts on either E52 or E72 if you happen to own one or even both :DL
The more I look into the internet the more I get confused.
Btw None of the [non user] reviews on the internet ever mentioned about these problems :nope:
A visit to the Nokia forum reveals so many user complaints on the E52 . . .that I find them disturbing.
