Since they say you can change your paintjob in sh5 . Then i would go for this one!

Does anybody know the reason why the conning tower had such camoflage? I guessing this is a boat out of La Spezia. They seemed to always have some sort of distinctive camoflage.

I can't explain the camo but that is definitely not "Italian camo".
The pictured boat is U-204 which served in 1. Flotille (as a training boat and also for 3 patrols as a front boat).
The picture was taken anytime between March 8th 1941 to October 19th either in Kiel or Brest.

Looks like some kind of dazzle camouflage. Usually used to make range estimation harder for U-Boats and the guns of bigger ships. But U-Boats themselves could have been using such for the purpose of anti-air defense as well. They where already small targets and this could have made it more confusing for a plane to find the right attack angle.

Vidi, vini, vinci
