I like to keep a web base e-mail account for dealing with online stuff, however Yahoo mail is just getting too much. All I want is to be able to send and receive e-mails.

Everytime I log onto Yahoo they have changed it so I can connect and share.

I don't want to.

Any alternatives that are dead simple like it used to be.

Not banned, just blocked from registering. Ask Neal for an exception, can't hurt.

Freemail (web.de) http://web.de/fm/

I'm using it exclusively since ten years or so, for all my accounts. No spam, so security breaches, once a week a single advert mail by them that you can simply, safely delete, unread.

Said to be the leader in Germany, and leading the test results of magazines since many years.

Google-services I would not trust one inch. Google is a data kraken.

P.S. If you need help with the German registration formula, let me know.

I've had MSN hotmail for the last 10 years or so. No complaints here.

I agree with getting Gmail. Its straight and to the point.

There are no advertisements, or "News" like there is with Yahoo.

I hate when I have to check my mother or my girlfriends Yahoo accounts because it takes forever just to get to the flipping mail.

If you were to link your Yahoo account with Microsoft outlook it would rid you of all the crap also.

As a side not I'm also registered to the forums with my gmail account.

We block new accounts trying to join using gmail, exisitng accounts can switch.

No it doesn't!

Righto, we have not blocked "googlemail" yet, so far, they are not spammer prone. Just gmail. And when a prospective member contacts th admin and asks to join using his gmail, I manually add him, no problem. But if we unblock gmail, spam galore!

I recently switched from Yahoo to Gmail. So far I am liking it. It is quicker to move around in Gmail than Yahoo. Gmail sends and receives e-mails really fast. Yahoo has been giving me fits lately when it sends an e-mail. Additionally, sometimes I send stuff to myself to back things up. This has been working ok, except for some reason my Yahoo mail has started to think I am spam! It drives me nuts. Gmail hasn't done that. I wanted to switch my Yahoo address on here over to my Gmail address but it said there are too many spammers from Gmail. I used the contact administrator link so hopefully I can get it changed. With the themes Gmail looks great, too! Yahoo changed their look a while back and I have hated it ever since. I agree about the news, too. I don't go to my e-mail to check the news. :damn: That is what iGoogle and My Yahoo are for. :88)
