I'm goin' down
01-15-10, 12:45 AM
My gaming computer is finished. The motherboard is bad according my in repairman, who has thirty years experience. I attribute it to a new type of depth charge developed by ducimus in TMO 1.9. I am reduced to this laptop, which cannot handle the game. It's back to SuperMario, 1993 editon, for me.

In my spare time, what shall I do?

I got it. Read all the new posts, watch all of the video tutorials, read about manual targeting with map contacts off, master Mobo and celestial navigation, decipher skwas, learn how to create mods, and become a well rounded SH4 computer technician and captain. When I return, I will be better than before.

What I will miss? The mods that take the game to the next generation, jumping out of my captain's chair and cheering with my crew when I sink a BB or Carrrier, and yelling at the top of my lungs, "I have only one life to give for SH4" when one of ducimus' dds depth charges "drop in" for a final visit.

p.s. my shrink says I am SH4 hardcore. Diagnosis: Total addiction. In the words of Arnold, "I'll be back."

Sorry to hear of your loss IGD I hope you gave her a burial at sea with a 21 gun salute.

But be brave for there are better moboards on the horizon.
Be sure to get one with a Silent Running feature to protect against Ducimus' DCs. :know:

By the way don't pay any attention to the shrink, mine said the same thing, it's a conspiracy. :yep:

Sorry for hearing about your pc man. Don't give up. I know how it is without a PC. If you don't have one is bad, but if you have one and is broken is even worse. When you start searching for a new one let us know, perhaps we can help in choosing the components.:salute:

Go to the library, read some books. Take up a musical instrument. My saxophone now gets more of my time than SH, and I believe I'm better off for it.

Crap, mine had screwed up so I'm out of action myself. Hadn't looked into it yet, but it reboots, just a black screen and keyboard is locked up. Checked the obvious simple things, but no screen on boot.

DAMN.......................................This piece of crap I'm using now ain't worth mud.

IGD, a motherboard transplant isn't a difficult job and you could update your system while you're at it for a small fraction of the cost of a new machine. On the other hand Ibuypower.com has some liquid cooled fire-breathing monsters for about a thousand dollars that will make the juices flow mightily! It's a great time to have a broken computer, perhaps the best time in all history.:D
