Getting used to RFB now and I encountered strings of friendly mines about the harbor I had no way to know were there until I hit them resulting in my death. I'm not used to this worry and can't seem to find how I am supposed to know about them before it's too late. I backed off the first string and found they become hard to see very near at hand from the bridge as well

Am I missing something?

Here's a screenshot I took a couple years ago from the Mission Editor. It just shows anti-sub nets (as stand-ins for reefs in this case) and I believe it's from the Run Silent, Run Deep Campaign, so it's usefulness might not be as great as I imagine. But nevertheless:

(unhelpful, wonky pic removed)

You know, they were sub nets now that I think back. I'm not sure how that map fits what I observed from flying about on external view, it looks pretty different, but I'll check it out. Thanks.

I am still wondering how one is supposed to know about them before a collision. You don't get a destroyer escort or the ability to request said escort.

yea something that was overlooked is a map showing where friendly nets are, just have to end outside theor try to navigate based off the mission editor photo, its still current for RSRD.

I'm looking at the game map and I just don't see the likeness to the RSRD screen shot. No Islands to match up so the scale is unknown and it doesn't look like the net system I so gracefully tangled with. :shucks:

Hmmph!

It's Kwajalein!

I'll see what type of updated pic I can dig up for you....

EDIT:

Hmmm.... I'm not finding any anti-sub nets or mines at Majuro in my current install, so I dunno. Who knows what was in the water when I took the original pic. Anyways, open up Jap_Minefields and/or US_Minefields in the Mission Editor and see what's there--like I say, nothing here, so my helpfulness is used up.

That makes way more sense! I'm following the net along the east side heading north using external view. I know from yesterday the net will cut right 90^ in a couple of miles and allow me to get closer to the sub tender. Even expecting the net, I nearly came out of TC too late and had to back emergency!

Well it must be a big C shape with a large opening on the north side by the destroyer. I'm not seeing the second net I hit yesterday and am about to anchor.
