Hey guys, I've been out for 3mo darn near, got my first 2 warships(Fuso battleship & Maya HC!) and over 212k tonnage and still no mission/objective accomplished..?
Who'd I piss off? Is there a time frame or a tonnage total? Are some missions just 'unwinnable'?
1.5 w/RSRD and a few minor mods
TIA

Depending upon the mission you're tasked with, the requirements can vary. If it's a simple go here sink ships type of mission usually you are required to stay within X NM of the marker on your chart for X hours.

Yep, just read your messages, it should tell you how long and time..be warned, if you go out of the range stated, the clock starts over.

Hmm..I hadn't noticed the specifics in the msgs. I just get the "Continue with the current objective and maintain radio silence for two hours" when I send status reports.
I thought I was just getting a "STFU and get back to work" deal! :salute:
Will surely look closer for specifics and will loiter on the star before setting course for home.
Thanks a million,

212k tons ?!?!
Captain, your pres is going to lever himself up out of his wheelchair and pin the gold on you if it kills him.
You do not need to worry about pettyfogging beaurocratic mission objectives.

sometimes you get those missions in a dead zone with no traffic so i will just zip past the time limit on TC then go look for my tonnage elseware.
those missions dont require the ships to be sunk in your area just that YOU stay in that area for the time specified so you can get your tonnage anywhere you want once your "time on station" part of the mission has been completed

How in the world did you get 227k tons worth of ship? Do you have unlimited torpedoes or something? Or did you just resupply every so often and never actually "finished" your mission?

I was assigned to patrol just a few nm West of Guam. I refitted at Tulagi several times for torps.
I'm running manual targeting too. No arcade arrows for me anymore.
I got into a convoy and screwed with them so long, all the escorts ran out of depth charges! Took out all merchants(5 of 6) but one on TWO occasions. Mind you, I engaged them at night, disengaged at daylight and re-engaged them the next night...Muh HAHAHAAAA!!!
Lots of great info gained from you guys helped me immensely, THANKS! :yeah:

Ah, there you go... I was wondering. I just finished a patrol (using U-Boat missions and OM) and after expanding all of my torps and half my deck gun ammo, I "only" had something like 45k tons in about 11 ships.
That makes more sense :)
I personally never really refit during a mission... The back-and-forth between the base and the patrol area is just too damn annoying, especially if you're going somewhere far (Sea of Japan in fleet boats, the americas in OM).

The HELL you say! Several times I've patrolled my assigned area until fuel needs sent me on my way. Gathered some tonnage on the way to the pits. Then received new orders and figured Subcompac was just taking pity on me.
A year and a half, uncounted careers playing TMO/RSRD and countless tonnage sunk, gallons of coffee guzzled, and NOW I notice this bit of info... ARRRRGH!!!! :damn:
