Change of homeport?

Is there a way to change your homeport? I just started a new career, and I didn't see anywhere to select my homeport. It put me in Pearl, but I don't like having to transit so long to get on station. I'd rather start at Midway, or in PI.

If I have to start a new career, that's alright since I've only had one encounter on this career and missed with both torpedoes (note to self: remember... 1200 yards in 3 minutes = 12 kts, not 1.2 kts :damn:)

When in port click the telephone, then select where you want to transfer to.

there is no midway start in the stock game but there is a mod that creates it and then you can start from there

Just got back from patrol and tried it.
It said that it's not possible at this time.

What do I have to do to make it possible? Is it a timeline thing?

Yep. No doubt they will give you a transfer once they are sure you know that 1200 yards in 3 minutes = 12 knots, :know: or after your next patrol.

The ability to transfer to another Squadron (aka Home Base) is based on the date and what class of boat you have. If you go into the Data\UPCData\UPCCampaignData\Foltillas.upc file You get a list of all the bases in game and when they might become available to you. Just open it up with Notepad to look at it.
