So it is three days until FedEx delivers my new laptop (damn bastards get Friday-Sunday off) and I already have plans to fill it up with gaming goodness.
Just a run down, the laptop will be an HP Pavilion with an Intel 2 Duo Core 2.53ghz, 4gb of DDR3 memory, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics with 1gb dedicated memory, and will run with Windows 7 Professional x64

Right off the bat I will install Tropico 3, DCS:Black Shark, Lock on Flaming Cliffs, Silent Hunter 3, SH4 Gold and Company of Heroes.

From this paycheck I have enough to get one game. I asked in my "New Computer" thread what some good games would be.

So far I have been recommended:
Crysis. (I would get the Maximum Edition which has both the Original and the Expansion)
ARMA II (Wary about it being buggy)
Empire: Total War (No one suggested it, but I like the Total War Series, and I have trouble getting my steam edition of Medieval 2 to work on Windows 7:rotfl2:)

So to help me choose which to get, I decided to make this thread, with its attached poll. The options are all self explanatory.

Depends on what you like in shooters. The games you listed are all very different from each other, so I'll just present my opinion, which probably doesn't come as a huge surprise: Get Arma2. Any serious bugs are ironed out by now and as in previous games of the series the replayability value is off the charts with all the user-made content. Especially if you prefer multiplayer to singleplayer this is a clear winner, and it should run ok with mediumish settings on your rig. My second choice would be ETW, which I don't own yet but I've heard good things about it. I would forget about Crysis and instead spend the money on beer :yeah:

Yes it's real, it is one of a series of budget simulations, very polular here in Germany because they are available in stores for one third of the price of other major games.

Other titles are:
- Police Simulator
- City Bus Driver Simulator
- Farming Simulator
- German Truck Simulator
- Loggers Simulator
- Tunneling Simulator
- Skyscrapers Simulator
- and many more ...

A looooong time ago there was a game called "Sim Tower" it should have been called "Sim Elevator" because the elevators were the arterys of life in that game.

Believe it or not it was actually pretty entertaining.

I see it is not offically abandonware and available for download. Its a lot of fun give it a try ;)

I have Sim Tower, and its expansion Yoot Tower. I used to love to Sim Tower in my teens. :)
Never managed to get to the Chapel on the top though. :haha:

So I went to Best Buy and ended up getting ARMA II. Highly anticipating Monday afternoon.

According to FedEX my computer is already in Miami's sorting facility. I have the urge to find said sorting facility and taking my computer.
