It seems like many families have little traditions that they do on New Year's day. Some of them are kinda weird... like my family's

In my family, we eat Pickled Herring on New Year's day. It brings good luck for the rest of the year.

Anyone else have a "good luck" tradition on New Year's day?

Not me. About the only thing I do every new year is wonder why it takes place eleven days after the solstice, rather than right on it.

We have one thng we all do each and every New Years Day to start the year off right.

We wake up. That count?

We've got a little tradition which was introduced by my grandfather and seems to have been passed down his family line and that's:

Wine.

I don't know why, but one hard boiled egg also.

Wine is the only way to go on NYD.

The hard boiled egg is new to me though.
