Hello there guys!
I'm not a new comer per se, although it's been so long since I last showed up here, that I'm sure none of you ever read anything from me.
I used to play SHIII a lot, but then got dragged away by other stuff like il-2.
This week, I decided to indulge myself with the Ubisoft WWII pack from STEAM, and I'm lurking the seas once again thanks to SHIV (Can't wait for SHV!:D)
Anyway, I wanted to ask (I'm sure this has been asked zillions of times) which are and where can I find the "Must Install" MODs for this game.
Bare in mind that I have installed the U-Boat Missions pack (also part of the above mentioned purchase) so I believe I'm currently running version 1.5.
Thanks in advance! And see you around in the Pacific:arrgh!:

Hmm... :hmmm:

The face is familiar but I'm just not coming up with a name...

WELCOME BACK!:sunny:

The three big supermods for SH4 are GFO (Game Fixes Only) from Webster, TMO (Trigger Maru Overhauled) from Ducimus, and RFB (Real Fleet Boat) from the RFB team. Unless you want to try u-boats, then Lurker's OM (Operation Monsun) is your only real choice (and a good one it it is)!

All are great, all are different, all have their fans and all have their own threads in the SH4 Mods Workshop forum. Check them out, and you'll also run across which smaller mods can be added on to each and which is preferred by whom. You can also get Multi-SH4 from the Subsim Downloads section and run all of them at the same time in different installs.

Oh, and no matter which you choose you'll also need RSRDC (Run Silent, Run Deep Campaign) to go with it. RSRDC completely rewrites the entire ocean to give realistic convoys and invasion forces in the proper places at the proper times.

I'm in exactly the same boat (no pun intended :)), two must-dos:

1) get "JSGME (http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html)" for all your mod management needs
2) check out the "SH4 Popular Mods (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=155786)" thread, which gives a great overview.

good luck!
