Irish Merchants

Just came across two large Irish Tankers somewhere in the North Atlantic, the date is Oct 5 1940 and I was wondering whether or not to attack? I understand that Northern Ireland is on the Allied side but will attacking these ships count as an attack on neutral shipping?

If you use GWX you have a flag manual in your periscope view. There you can look up all the nations and when/if they are in war with you.

If they are flying the Irish Tricolour then they are neutrals and should be left alone.

Irish ships will be flying the tricolour and are neutral.
Northern Irish ships will be flying the Union Jack.
