"Script Manager Syntax Error in Scripts\Editor\MenuConfig.script Line=178 Char=9" or something thereabouts.

Sorry about that I will upload a fix but until then if you could find the

ZWMods\T34vsTiger\Scripts\Editor\MenuConfig.script

open in any text editor and delete one coma at the end of line 177

[ "T34-85-44", new CInsertObjectDescr("GameObject","CTankT34_85_44Unit", "MilitaryTruck.bmp") ], <---delete this coma here! and save.

That is it!

Did you delete the two (DotConcreteUnit.script and DotConcreteUnit.script) files from the "Units" Directory?

and what is the content of your Animations directory?

Hi Murkz, I found the problem.
In file ZW_Mods\T34vsTiger\Models\u_veh_T34_AI852.script

At line 198
"Textures/u_veh_t34_85_turret_Crashed_2.tex", // texture name

Remove the _2 so it looks like this:
"Textures/u_veh_t34_85_turret_Crashed.tex", // texture name

And I will add the fix to the main file and upload it as well as a single file fix.:up:

Hi poymando, I will put something together at some time soon as I do plan
and welcome new missions. The editor is really easy once you get the hang of it but the developers removed some features that I intend to fix that will help
you produce and enjoy the work producing them, but that's a ways down the road, so to speak.

Please tell me step by step on how you installed. The error you describe
is common when a few things occur.

You may have copied Campaign 1 mission 1 in the Campaign 2 mission 1 folder double check that!

Yes and do not install any other mod until you get it working. And please let me know when you are there.

correction:
Just put ZW_Mods in your Lighthouse folder (Directory)

It now drags. I can't aim. It is jerking all over the place.

Un-install the ZW mod add the new texture fix then re-install the mod.

Place the contents of the Mod file in ZW_Mods the ZW_Mods is the new "Mods" folder and yes use JSGME Mod Installer. Place JSGME.exe in the LightHouse folder. And remember the Texture fix before you enable the mod in the game. :up:

I reinstalled it like you said, but the game still hits a brick wall. Everything is "ok" till I meet a bunch of Russian troops or tanks, then I can't every control the driving or gunner. It seems like I hit a "key stoke" and 10 seconds later the game does it:-? My gun site move 30 meters to the left when it should only move 1 meter. It jerks and shutters. Don't take it personal, but I am getting frustrated:damn:

Is there a key stoke that will show the FPS as I play?

I do like the cool new mission and model updates:yeah: Not a bad first try as a beta. Plus you have a lot of us to "beta" test:salute:

Do you think it is the "coding" of the game like posted above?

T-72 was like TvT. I good game, but never finished:-?

I feel bad for you this Christmas. Here we are playing a game, as you patch and listen to us ask questions every 10 minutes:cry: Hope Santa left a nice gift under your tree:D

You know I might have believed you if I knew very little (or nothing) about TvT and may even have (after listening to speculation) decided to avoid it. But that is certainly not the case. You speculate in your frustration and I understand the frustration when it comes to this Sim. But if I handled my
frustration by speculating TvT would be dead and gone.
So if you want to work with me then is fine but if not then I'm sorry
I can't help you.

F9 key for FPS

I hope you could forgive me for be an AH but I made a huge mistake in how I thought JGME works so I made a image tutorial that I will upload on the first post that shows a better way and this might help.

One more thing do you Overclock?

Did you change how the JSGME works for this? Isnt the normal procedure for JSGME that it makes a MODS folder to the TvT folder and you put the mod there and then enable it? IMHO, would be better to keep it as it works for other games, so people who have used JSGME can get the mod to work without problems. :hmmm:

It's simply installed one folder "higher" in the folder tree, works just as usual for me.

It has to be this way because TvT reads everything in the root folder, if you have your "MODS" folder as usual, TvT reads the game files + the modded files in the MODS folder (even when the mod aren't installed) and the duplicate entries make the game crash.

Re the Mod installer,sorry to ask,but where is this found please?I have a default copy of TvT,I have temp placed the downloaded ZW_Mods file within the Lighthouse folder and have installed the graphic fix within the models folder,so just need to enable it now with the Mod installer.

And then the next error message appear: Duplicate Class "CC1M1Atmosphere" Definition

And then I tried another one:
1-Disable the mod using the jsgme
2-Copy and paste all the files of every folder from the ZW_Mods folder to the T34vsTiger folder

Example

Files from ZW_Mods\Models to Lighthouse ...\T34vsTiger\Models
Files from ZW_Mods\Scripts to Lighthouse ...\T34vsTiger\Scripts

and the same with the other folders, but the result was the same error message still appearing.

Was the first one, the correct one?

And just curiosity, what's the name of the first mission for both sides?

Make sure to clear the games Cache folder by deleting the folders contents.

<Drive>Lighthouse Interactive\T34vsTiger\Cache

This is a major cause of crashes.

Also, I am uploading a automatic installer program that will be greatly appreciated. It will ask for the place to install and you just have to change
one letter to the drive you have you game on.

And then I tried another one:
1-Disable the mod using the jsgme
2-Copy and paste all the files of every folder from the ZW_Mods folder to the T34vsTiger folder

Example

Files from ZW_Mods\Models to Lighthouse ...\T34vsTiger\Models
Files from ZW_Mods\Scripts to Lighthouse ...\T34vsTiger\Scripts

and the same with the other folders, but the result was the same error message still appearing.

Was the first one, the correct one?

And just curiosity, what's the name of the first mission for both sides?

I am at this moment uploading a automatic install program you may want to download it, this JSGME stuff has been a disaster.

I used the new autoinstaller with a fresh install and it works fine, at the end it says everything was installed correctly, but when I try to run the game, the next message appear: [ScriptManager]Duplicate class "Cu_veh_t34_85_44ModelSkin" definition

Good news! It is working. My fps around 6 to 7, but I see NO jerking, shuttering and slow downs:yeah: I can now aim and shot while getting my butt blown off:rock:

The unmodded version of TvT is showing 10 to 11 fps.
Between you and me, 7 fps and 10 fps seems low, but the games run great:up: Maybe I am uses to 50 fps in my auto racing games:hmmm:

Also I blew up a bunch of T-34/85's and no texture issues anymore:yeah:

As stated before - Mikhayl way to set up the "mod launcher" works AWESOME:rock:

as for your concern I could upload some default files to you if you have any trouble but I doubt you will.
Did you see that I have a Automatic Installer now. If I could give you another tip I would urge you to
install it on top of the JSGME one. It includes a couple of files. And it has a ZW_Uninstaller . :salute:

The fps numbers you and me have are way below what some people on other sites where getting when this game came out. I saw some people reporting 30 fps:o My is reading low, but it is run good now:D

Got it working

Installed ZW mod using installer, created new directory when told it did not exist, then dragged it to program files and was asked if I wanted to replace existing folder, yes to all and now it runs.
I did a clean install of original game.

now to have fun.

Hello ZantaWolf,

I played your fine games again. With the Soviet one no problems the fps are smooth,I get from 15 to 30, itīs with the German mission that I have low fps from 15 down.When the fight gets heavy and smoky, lots of Bolskhevik steel being blown up and burning bright, my fps would get down to 1.6( I kid you not) and the game would get so choppy and jerky that I got killed by a Red T34 because I couldnīt aim properly and that bad mannered Moujik killed me with 3 shots.

The solution was to lower everything by half: details, textures, grass, trees, models ect except anti aliasing which I turned off.It worked and while my fps average barely 5 to 8 during the good fight there was no more jerkiness and the fps even increased to 16 once I was on my way to destroy the hidden tanks and AT guns.As a result, I was able to win another great victory which I dedicate to you Herr Spielfuehrer for this tremendous piece of beautiful modding that you created.

I destroyed 9 tanks, took out 8 artillery or fire points, 3 APCs and 2 trucks not to mention 8 infantry.My Tiger received 13 impacts but I still had shells to spare!

The Hanomag will only come close enough for about a minute (< 20meters).
This has been programed to keep him close but not to close. You will have
to take care of him because one hit and it's over. And watch out that he doesn't get stalled by the wreckage you leave behindin your wake.
If he gets stalled go back , drive past him about 30 meters and he will get loose and find you again. :yeah:

You toned down the reloading, ok by me. Makes the single mission have a little more pucker factor, as the AI seem to finally get up and move a bit un-predictably. Don't know how you did that.

Only two tiny complaints... The T-34 still only had 4 gears. And I was hoping you had found the fix to the last german mission hang, But alas, that prolly needs to go back to the programmers. Now to fiddle with a semi-new game. WOOT!

Ok, I tried this program. Fraps said I am also getting 10 fps at the start of the mission down to around 5 fps during the armor battle in the middle of the mission. Haven't got to the end yet, as I am watching the fps's and game play - not the enemy:D

KDF; re your lasdt German mission crashing.It may have to do with your graphic card or insufficient RAMs.I have the same game installed on 2 different laptops one with an Invidia 7000 with 256 mgs dedicated the other with an ATI radeon 3650 with 512 mgs dedicated and up to 1024 shared and while the last German mission crashes on the first one especially once you start moving past the first AT guns on the other I can complete the mission without glitches.What graphic cards do you have and how much RAMs available?

I have 2 SLI'ed BFG 8600 GT's on a ASUS Striker II MB, with 2 gig ram and every bell and whistle on this rig. Still locks up after the crossing of the fork in the road. If your only crash is in the last German mission, are they the stock with no tweaking done?
Because I had a similar problem back when I first stated playing and if I can remember I
updated my Direct X9c files, then my video driver and that I think did fix it but is was
German mission 4 that was driving me up the wall.

Once done I keep heading left going around a large wooded hill and then I take a right turn and attack from the rear the 3 T34s guarding the road and holding up my convoy.Once done, I either attack the last Soviet outpost from the road(which is tough because there are 6 AT guns 2 or 3 T34s and a couple of SU76 waiting for you.Once you destroy thme then the mission is accomplished.My advice once you get; there attack them from the rear slowly and cautiously because they are well hidden and have those famous X ray eyes that are the trademark of the game.I think avoiding the main road leading to that last outpost is the key to avoid the game crashing.As I said it worked for me 10 times.

On the other hand if my solution does not work it may be that your version of T34 vs Tiger which is buggy.The early release was flawed.I have the latest from October or November 2008.There s a patch available I think you cn find the link on this forum.Have you tried it?

OK, I was along side with Puff, Onecho, Monk and the rest when that patch was made. I even wrote the read-me for it. Phoenix's MMP4 was another with a few changes for MMP3, which was made mostly for the buggy multi-player with correct gears,New Sounds, ammo distribution for the tanks and trejectory for the rounds to make it realistic. I have been running them ever since until ZeeWolfs new update. Yes ZeeWolf, I do so love this update. You are a COD! That said, let me degress about the German Mission six.
I start the mission running up the left side of the road ahead of the Idiot colume of mine, stop on the crest of the hill. Take out the two T34's behind the bushes, swing the turret right and take out the 3 t34's comming up the road, swing around hard backwards and take out the one behind the base, he has a partner that just sits there, take off down the small hill and take out the two comming up the left of the road. The 2 half-tracks run home to momma, my colume starts to move ahead (this is where I believe the trouble starts) I run up the right road and stop by the 3 burning tanks, take out the two AT guns by the building across the field and the truck, start to move forward to engage the two tanks comming over the hill by the destroyed AT guns. It then seems that when my colume starts to move I believe, as I ain't watchin those Bozo's, when tthey cross the fork in the road, the game then freezes hard. Sound plays, but frozen. ALT/CONT/DEL time, as nothing else works. This is incessant. I have even thought of disabling those tigers myself so they would not move, but what's the point? I finally got the expansion installed, but I get a "Visual C++" error, see my screenshot here -

I installed it into c:\Program Files\Lighthouse Interactive\T34vsTiger and then copied all those .ddl files from the first .zip file into that folder (before I did that I could not change any key assignments in-game!).

I choose the new mission, and that's as far as I get.

What am I doing wrong?

This is under Windows Vista (sp2) by the way.

No ZW I was referring to an unofficial patch 0.1 or 1.1 which Lighthouse released although not created by them and I think it is available through the tanksim.ru link.My game I think came with that patch incorporated(lste release) which is why it does not crash.

But KDf s experience is interesting so to speak because my own experience was that the mission would crash after taking out the 3 T34s and once the column starts heading forward.He - on the other hand - crashes very late in the game. IAs I said I avoid the main road and take the Ruskies from the rear until the end.This way I avoid getting killed by attacking tme head first.

If you could bare with me as I attempt at an explanation I would be grateful. This type of crash (after thinking about it) I remember that it occurred at the moment a phase trigger was executed. I remember that because the game crash that was an issue was happening at exactly that point when I took out the last gun [in mission 4 ] every time. But I fixed it.
The issue that kdf is speaking of includes a Navpoint entrance trigger. I may be wrong because I am kind of shooting from the hip here in speculating his issue but if that is the case it can be completely eliminated.
And then you can be like me, and forget about it. :DL

Sorry, I realise I didn't give too much info there, it was quite late and I was heading to bed!

I completely uninstalled TvT (and deleted the Lighthouse folder too), then did a fresh install from my DVD before installing your update.

This was under windows Vista sp2 by the way, which gives me some odd problems with this game at the best of times! It refuses to save my key assignments, and will not save screenshots to disk, even though I run the game "as administrator".

But to get back to the point, and answer your question - No, I did not run the editor, I have never run the editor. Should I? I would be rather lost in that I reckon :).

PS re that crashing on the last mission, I have the same thing as well, I have never got to the end of it, although I got really close to the big camp at the end once before it crashed out. This happens on both my laptop (vista) and my desktop (xp), both have Nvidia cards (8400m-gs and gtx260 respectively). My desktop is less than 2 weeks old as well. If that helps :)


*EDIT* I did a fresh install of TvT on my desktop, installed your expansion, copied all those dll files into the folder and it work perfectly......WOOHOO :D Looks like my other problem is vista related. The new stuff is magic - soldiers shoot not just run away like possessed loonies, the tank is faster, the idle sound is fantastic (sounds a bit odd at speed though as the sample repeats), the enemy tanks are (in my opinion) easier to kill (ie better hit location calculations), and the other units are a scream (I was watching a hanomag with a dead machine gunner being continually rolled over because of shells landing nearby, it survived and eventuall drove off :D ).

*EDIT2* Just in case it helps anyone, I also tried it under the win7 evaluation version (on my desktop) and it works without having to copy those .dll files over.

I am in the need of more data on whether the non-English version will have
compatibility issues. But with the limited information you submit I would first
tell you to un-install T34 vs Tiger and make sure you delete everything
if any files, directories and sub-directories.
Then install a T vs T again. Play it make sure it's working well as a default
install. Then install using the Automatic Installation version.

Then let me know,

I've had TVT since November 2008 also. I'm running Vista 32-bit and a killer gaming pc, I can run Crisis on max settings.

I'm having the same crash on the last German mission too. I just replayed it again and after taking out six T34s in front of me and two behind me I advanced forward hidden by the large hill on the right and some distance from the fork in the road.

Like a good Tiger commander I always use as much distance and try to take out my targets at long-range. I took out the two AT guns on the hill as well.

As I advanced closer to the road fork, that is when my game freezes. I've had no freezes on any other German or Russian missions, so I would agree with the coding bug on this particular mission.

I think some of these Mods also have problems with Vista 32-bit on certain PCs and graphic cards, mine (ATI Radeon 4850).

I've had somewhat the same problem with Steel Fury. I was able to successfully install the Steel Panzer Mod v1.4 and the Hetzer-Panther and Tiger 0.97 Mod.

For some reason the Winter Beta Mod and the T34-85 Campaign Mod will not work.

Hello trek,

I used to experience the same problem with the 6th German mission. I also believe like you and KDf that it's a coding error.My solution - which I posted last week to KDF - is to avoid the main road in order to successfully complete the mission.I have been able to do it three times by going left after taking out the first 2 AT guns and the couple of T34s in front and the other 3 sneaking up your back. For the remainder of the mission I attack the Sovs from the rear and take them out including the last very well defended outpost with Su76, At guns, T34s and trucks infantry.Then I get a mission ended successfull message with the prompt to press tab.Otherwise yesterday I tried to complete that mission through the main road and I crashed just after taking out 2 T34s past the tank wrecks( T34s and PzIVs).This confirms that there's a built-in error in the game.

Re Steel Fury I have the T 34-85, the Winter and even T60 mods installed and working successfully.Since this is out of topic ,I would suggest we talk on the Steel Fury Thread instead

Ok, I played the last German mission last night and got further than I ever have. I got past the crossroads after taking out the two AT guns on the first hill by the building and seven T34s in the front and rear of my position. From there I advanced further up the road and took out numerous T34s and SP guns. I killed 11 enemy tanks before being killed by a T34 hidden in the forest. I was 75% through the mission.

I'm starting to think avoiding a PC crash is all about pacing. After killing the Tanks in front of me and in the rear I continued down to the first road fork and killed the AT guns on the hill. I was driving just to the right of the road surface. I did all my control movements and advances slow and methodically, stopping every other minute and scanning the distance. I also paused the game several times.

On previous plays of this mission I hit my control keys rapidly and got crashes each time. Anyway, for what its' worth, this is my theory. I'll know for sure when I repeat this method on replay of the mission tonight.

I thought I had it licked, but I still locked up and I still think it's coding , as the coulm of Germans moving seems to be the lock-up. No-one seemed to believe me, :damn: but noiw I feel vindicated as it does happen to others in here. As I am running a NIVIDIA chipset, Video and such, we now see it locks up with Radeons as well as other MB/Video arrangements. I shall now dissappear again and wait and see.

I believe it to be an action/phase trigger. That is executed by a number of destroyed T34s or the entering into a Navigation point. You see I have a completely custom mission 6 that has all the bugs worked out. My new mission 6 is what I am thinking about releasing in a complete pack but all the other missions are not complete yet. It [new mission 6] has my new models in it. So I was thinking of maybe re-working it with out my new models and using it as the fix release. It too is on the Mid sized map. But the game play is not easy.

i have a Problem; i have a clean new TvT installation! The automatic installation from ZW_Mod works fine and the installalation finished succefully! But when i started TvT no new Mission was found?!!
The installation Path is: E:\Programme\Lighthouse Interactive\T34vsTiger

Just found this site yesterday and am happy to see that TvT is alive and well,having given it up for dead up many months ago. Finally got the new mod installed, but am having a severe problem with the various views (F1, F3, F6)...the view keeps rotating through 360 degrees and I can only sometimes gain control (briefly). Anyone have any ideas?

What joystick do you have?
Does it have a control center like CH does?
I have found that if I do not start the Control Center on my CH gear (that I have connected to fly online Flight Sims), The views just rotate until I close out, engage my profile (Start the comntrol Manager)and re-enter the game. Then the rotation stops, and everything is normal.

Yes you do. The first mission of the base game is totally different. If you keep getting your A@@ handed to you on the first mission,(russian) you got it. Each one of the first missions have been reworked. the others stay the same, but harder, as the AI react differently.

My own experience playing all the missions has been now with the changes they are easier for the German player(as the friendly AI manned tanks are better and more active)and tougher for the Russian.

I'm glad you seam to be able to play it now. My guess is you are using the
JSGME version. If I where you I would un-install TvT and reinstall my mod from a fresh install using the auto-installer version with no other mods.

No, your idea is chaos. Look, just de-activate the installed mod in the JSGNE window. Delete the JSGNE program and delete the ZW_Mods.
Then use the Auto-installer version. And then when the install window
shows the location you want to install change the: C:\Lighthouse Interactive\T34 vs Tiger - to read like this: D:\Lighthouse Interactive\T34 vs Tiger

Ok JR it looks like you need to to un-install TvT. Then download the auto
install program http://www.filefront.com/15223135/ZW_Mods.zip

Then use the Auto-installer version. And then when the install window

Now it is fine,but for a while I was tearing my hair out.

Just a point ZW,before you came onto the scene,I was using the unofficial patch,will that cause problems with your work or not?

To be on the safe side do not install any other mods until I have the time to
test the mod in question.
I plan to release with Kursk my entire "bug fixed" scripts. But until then all data I receive that would assist any future releases must be free from other mods for accuracies sake. As you are aware I am treading in territory
abandoned be the makers of this Sim, so anything that can ease the support process is welcome. :salute:

Had again un/installed the game and mod and got this error again.
Then un/installed again. Firstly i played a mission without mod.
Emptied the cache.
Thereafter installed the autoinstaller and no problems now.

Java's that Zee Wolf' s revenge for you.I experienced the same .Before I used to win those Soviet missions fairly easily.Now with ZW's improvements, the German AI is aggressive and the few T34s just can't make it.One possible reason is that the Russian creators of the original game made the T34 much stronger than they actually were and weakened the Panzer IVs and Tigers capacity to even the odds.Which is why many Soviet missions include an insufficient number of T34s to even hope to complete the mission. If you want to see the difference, install the game without ZW's mods and improvements and play you will see the difference(You may fail it a couple of times but eventually you'll succeed).

That's what I said in another posts; the German missions are easier now and the Soviet ones much tougher.Which is as it should be.

Right and tactically its a numbers game.

X amount of dead T-34's = 1 dead tiger

Depending on crew training and discipline use of terrain and ability to get within the 500 meter range for a flank or rear quarter shot. You can be an elite T-34 Commander by leaving the pack and doing an end around using low terrain and trees to beat the Tiger whilst he destroys your comrades.

This sim is back from the grave thanks to Zee!

i bet it's the russian tanks that can see your Tiger, while Tigers can't "see" your t34 when somewhat hidden

Right frinik, well documented problem with AI since the release of TvT, and an AI problem common to many sims. I use the low areas to block view from the AI, it works rather well. My original post was probably unclear.

I do like the variety in that some T-34 crews fight well while others cut and run. I cannot say enough about Zee's work and its nice to see this sim come back from the dead.

All in all I am having a wonderful time fighting the Tiger! I like the fact that the Russian infantry now have teeth. I ignored them last night as I was repeating the first sets of mission and they got the best of me twice. Nice to see that!

Wilcke I play Panzer Elite and STeel Fury and with PE it s true the same problem but SF does not have that problem which I like about it. IT s much more realistic in that sense because AI that has superhuman abilities defeats the purpose of having good shooting and spotting skills. THis is an area in which our friend ZW wil make a big difference.


YES Sharbait its the T34 only who mostly can spot you through walls and trees. How did you know?;)

I've had TVT since November 2008 also. I'm running Vista 32-bit and a killer gaming pc, I can run Crisis on max settings.

I'm having the same crash on the last German mission too. I just replayed it again and after taking out six T34s in front of me and two behind me I advanced forward hidden by the large hill on the right and some distance from the fork in the road.

Like a good Tiger commander I always use as much distance and try to take out my targets at long-range. I took out the two AT guns on the hill as well.

As I advanced closer to the road fork, that is when my game freezes. I've had no freezes on any other German or Russian missions, so I would agree with the coding bug on this particular mission.

I've also not been able to use the Zee_Mod and I've tried every method listed here (see my other thread and conversations with ZeeWolf and Mikhayl).

I think some of these Mods also have problems with Vista 32-bit on certain PCs and graphic cards, mine (ATI Radeon 4850).

I've had somewhat the same problem with Steel Fury. I was able to successfully install the Steel Panzer Mod v1.4 and the Hetzer-Panther and Tiger 0.97 Mod.

For some reason the Winter Beta Mod and the T34-85 Campaign Mod will not work.

Computers as a breed are strange and at the same time wonderful machines to behold.

I guess I'm like a lot of you guys here. I had given up on TvT and shelved it early on until Zeewolf came up with his intentions to make it what it always should have been. I just reinstalled the game yesterday, added Zeewolf's Xmas present mod plus his mission 6 fix. The game plays great so far-no crashes or errors yet. I'm just finishing mission 2 played in a Tiger.

I have a couple questions about the game. When I'm in the Commander's position and come under attack the game will continually force me into either the driver or gunner position. I will have to repeatedly keep inserting myself back to the Commander position. The same thing hapens when in the gunner slot the game throws me into the driver position leaving the gunner empty. Seems to be triggered by the first incoming rounds and continues until things settle down. As I recall this was present in the stock game and is very frustrating. I find myself giving commands only to find out that I'm now somewhere else. I re insert myself only to be kicked out again when the next round lands. Is there a way to lock the player into a given position?

Second question; When moving forward and suddenly wanting to stop I hit the "S" key but I find that the driver more often than not throws the tank in reverse. By hitting the down arrow key I can put the tank in nuetral and this seems to help-am I doing something wrong here? Is there a key command for "STOP"?

Thank you Zeewolf for bringing back new like into this game. It's my intention to buy your mod as soon as it's ready.

My knee jerk reaction to what you describe is a joystick issue. one
"rule of thumb" is to clear the T34 vs Tigers Cache folder and reboot after
any install to the game as well can head off a few anomalies.

Hemisent normally you can stop your tank anytime by pressing on the space bar which controls the brake on the tanks.Thatīs what I do.

What you describe in your posts about being shifted to different postion is news to me.I had never heard of that problem before. I assume you use the different keys to shift position in the tank(F5 special view, F3 the gun sight, F1 the driver etc?

One thing you can do Hemisent is go into game settings and change the keys that control the different positions and see if the changes make any difference in the behaviour of the game.Try allocating letters instead of the home , insert and other such keys.Of course make sure you donīt use letters which are asigned to other functions in the game.

I was just about to try that Frinik. Right now I'm just getting acclimated to the game. I just finished mission 2 and noticed something else. I went off road at the start through the forest. I reset my settings to make my tank invulnerable and went crashing into the trees. Everytime I hit a tree at anything over very slow speed the game would kick me out of my current position-whatever that happened to be at the time. Once I finally attacked the Russians every time my Tiger took a hit it kicked me out. I'm thinking that stress or shock to the hull causes the kick out, not just battle damage.

I'll try re setting those keys and see what happens. It's a shame this game came with no dynamic campaign and only 6 missions, it's a blast to play now that there is some hope on the horizon.

UPDATE:
Resetting the keys does not work, emptying the cache and rebooting also is a bust.

Yeah! the jolt you describe whenver your tank takes a hit is normal itīs built in the game.I donīt like it especially when you are under attack by several tanks and every time you try to get one in your sights to shoot you lose your target and get pounded until you sometime die.

As for being thrown out when your tank hits a tree I canīt tell but it may also be built in for realism.

Don't wish to tell you how to suck eggs, I was having all sorts of problems installing your mod:damn:. I was running the D\L straight from the winrar folder then allsorts of stuff was going wrong, as soon as i unrar'd it into a seperate file then run your installer i was straight in :yeah: Hope this helps any other old git get there heads around these Gizmoes :haha:.

I've read the posts regarding the cu_veh_t34_85_44ModelSkin error on launch, and I even had the mod installed for a number of weeks and enjoyed playing it (bar a few crashes, German mission 6 is un-beatable and I cant beat the soviet 1st mission, I've flanked a tiger within less then 100M and even rear shots do nothing... he just turns around after sitting there for a min and shoots me, turret shots, hull shots, nothing has an effect - except once where he blew up from a frontal mantlet shot??? I was then taken out from enemies through a forest... needless to say I only play as German now)

- anyhow my real problem
one day it crashed in German mission 6 and i havnt been able to get it to run again, fresh installs, different directories you name it - and yes I tried the msvcr files into the game dir... it just doesnt do anything - i still get the error.

I've got an i7, gtx280's in SLI and am running win7 ultimate 64 bit

Can anyone help me out?

Animal , German mission 6 in the original game had a code bug which meant tthat if you take or follow the main road after taking out the first line of Soviet defence the game would lock up and the crash.Before ZeeWolf came on stage I would simply skirt aeround the Soviet defences and be able to end the misison without carsh but it would take twice as long.

If you downloaded ZeeWolf 's bug-free, free version of that mission 6(here's the download link http://www.tanksimzw.com/dl.htm (http://www.tanksimzw.com/dl.htm).) and then installed your own skin that may have caused the crash as ZeeWolf specifically said that his mods are not compatible with other mods.


As a better alternative, if you like TvsT then I would suggest that you check his Kursk mod which is being released and incorporates better gameplay, more German/Soviet tank models( not playable at the moment) , more action, correction of TvsT's original bugs such as AI shooting you through dense woods and ridiculous behaviour by both tanks and infantry.As well explosions and atmosphere have been greatly imrpoved and the game is brand new with huge maps ( 18 sq. kilometres) created by ZW for his new mod.THis is not free but for the price you get a new game , with new missions coming on stream, better gameplay, no bugs, incredible support and a very active and solidary community of members of ZeeWolf's Kursk release and mods.

I can't open the game, i get the script manager cu_veh_t34_85_44ModelSkin definition error...

but this is on an unmodified install with his xmas mod, I dont have any other mods installed. I had originally gotten this error the first time I installed the game but it was corrected with the msvcr files in the game directory, however that no longer fixes the error.

Oh, and thank you for pointing out the German mission 6 fix... i was unaware of that.

I was however aware of his amazing work on the kursk release and am patiently awaiting its release to join up, I've been following the ginormous thread of bug testing and whatnot for a few months now.

Animal no need to wait the Kursk release is already partly done, the Pre Kursl Alpha rel;ease which incorporates new graphic and sounds effects, new models ect has been release and mission 3 and 4 also.You can already join and enjoy the beenfits.

Re your TvsT I guess your install is corrupt because there are some remainign files from your former installs.Have you cleaned the cache?Check thoroughly your C:drive or wherever your game is located to make sure that you have removed any former file from your former installs.This I suspect is the reason why new installs don't work.Also to test my theory try installign the game in another drive the D: for example and then installZW mods and play the game.If ti plays normally then my theory is correct.

thanks a lot frinik, I will try installing to my d:\ drive and see if that helps, I tried a re installation even going as far as uninstalling, checking to make sure the entire directory was gone - rebooting and then doing a fresh install - the problem persisted ...?

I'll post my results in case anyone else has this issue

My last question is weather or not you can use the updated mission 6 with the Christmas release?

Needless to say I'm still rather hesitant to put any more money into this game if certain issues I can't fix, and can't launch the game

Donīt give up yet Animal letīs wait until ZW joins the forum he may know whatīs going on and give you the solution but already I can tell you that the error messaqge duplicate means you have that file somewhere still and itīs creating a duplication, a conflict with your new install.Did you clean the game cache?

Look I have all ZWīs mods and there are over 30 members now with ZWīs mod sand none of us has reported that problem.So it lies in your folders.

Letīs wait and see what ZW says!

well, after trying re-installing and deleting all files - I tried something else to get rid of my "[ScriptManager] Duplicate class "Cu_veh_t34_85_44ModelSkin" definition." problem.

I manually opened regedit and did a "find" for everything with t34, lighthouse, and tiger... and deleted every entry I could find.

After rebooting just to be sure I installed the game, then the christmas release and now we are once again back in action.

I havnt tried the mission 6 fix yet, because i'm still not sure if it can be used with teh xmas release... but I'll try it when I get there again.

I did run into a glitch in mission one though. I killed/knocked out all the enemies and the 3rd objective of knocking out the "hidden" t34 wouldnt trigger... (behind house :O:) I dont know why, but I got stuck in the level unable to "finish" even though he was certainly dead.

Its only happened once, but nonetheless I thought I'd mention it.

there is a easier way, (I was gonna say this yesterday, but got BUSY!) but there is a nice little app called Eusing Free Registry Cleaner. I use it when I uninstall programs of any kind. Be sure to back up the registry first, then use it. Works wonders.

Can i mod some text line in a script or something to prevent this from happening?

every time I've won i've done so while engaged in what most likely looks like a certainly deadly situation with the russians laying in on me... but then it always ends saying I'm sucessful - without destroying the soviet cordon or all the enemy tanks...

I just found a little issue with the autoinstaller, when you uninstal the mod it delete the new files but not restore the original files.
I have a little issue, I play TvsT, install the ZW_Mod and the game start.
But if I delete the cache folder I got this error "duplicate class "Cu_Veh_t34_85modelskin" definition" and the game crash.
I have tried everything but the modded game wont start with an empty cache.

Hope I will enjoy this game like you did :woot:

But if I delete the cache folder I got this error "duplicate class "Cu_Veh_t34_85modelskin" definition" and the game crash.
I have tried everything but the modded game wont start with an empty cache.

Hi, totally confused, how do you load the ZW Mods and the C2 mission and do you have to put the Msvcr file somewhere? I read somewhere about a ZW mods folder, do I have to create this as I've tried putting the Mods file in the Lighthouse folder and I can't see a difference in the game so I think I've got it wrong somehow. HELP please.

Ok, first thing to note is that the free ZW mods are a modification of the stock missions and a host of bug fixes. I strongly recommend playing a good
installation of the stock game first before installing the ZW mods.
There is a very important note in addition: ZW mods are not compatible with
any other mods.
As for the MSVCR files: Put them in <drive>:\WINDOWS\system32
or your T34 vs Tiger root directory.

Oh and one more thing read the file that comes in the Zip files

Well, just got hold of TvT, installed it, played a couple games, applied ZeeWolf's mod and yep, the dreaded "Cu_t34_85_44ModelSkin" duplicate error appears and now I just can't get rid of the error unless I uninstall the mod! What an absolute nightmare!

Tried all the recommendations in this thread but I just can't get rid of the error (other than by not using the mod) - any definitive solutions guys? This is killing me, spent hours trying to get it to work and I'm about ready to smash the PC to bits..... arrrgghhhhhhhh!

Just to confirm, clean copy of TvT, no other mods etc. Downloaded latest copy of ZeeWolf's mods from his website.
