PT-Boats has finally been released and is avaiable for purchase now as a boxed product or instant download over at Battlefront.com (http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=234&Itemid=369), note that the game is only available online and not in "bricks and mortar" stores in the US/UK.
Any difference between this version and the Australina released version I own?:)

A few differences some bugfixes, completely new localisation, if you order the boxed product you get qa 56 page "ship guide" (probably similar to the SH3 ship id book). I also have the Aus version and may buy the download evrsion from Battlefront for the bugfixes and lan play. The boxed version would be pretty expensive for me in the UK by the time I add $20 postage and about anoither $22 in tax and import duties.
Downloaded it from BattleFront today as an Xmas present to my self :)
Have played the first tutorials and missions.
I know many here already played the Ru release, but for what its worth here are my first impressions.
First off THE GAME IS ROCK HARD! I played on 'normal' and I still lost most 1 on 1 gun battles with other PT boats.. but maybe I just suck...
I have not tried Strategic mode yet - so I cant comment on that, but it looks like you can control Destroyers Subs and many other vessels in this mode.
(edit - just seen this in some of the other threads here)
THE GOOD!
Extreamly satisfiying action, fast paced and pretty tense (as you get shot at from all the directions) Torpedos can be aimed and launched by eye at close range - So no need for any fancy caluclations.
Gun detail and animation is supurb, all ship crews can be shot on the deck, includiong your own, if you loose all your crew members, you loose you boat! & its Game over.
Lovley graphics for the most part that take advantage of the latest DX10
cards. On my GTX 275, it runs silky smooth on high settings with 16x AA and dynamic shadows enabled.
Controls are NICE and simple, (W,A,S,D for movement - (tap W & S to toggle speed, so no need to hold them down all the time)
1,2,3,4 to switch first/3rd person views and to cycle gun posts, Space to shoot a torp.
So yes, the controls are great, easy to get to grips with (and there is no real need for them to be any more complicated.)
The PT boats themselves handle in a realistic & convincing manner.

THE BAD!
Serious lack of game modes!
From main menu, all you get is Campaign (and no it is not dynamic) And mutiplayer.... thats about it.
No quick missions, mission editor or even a Museum to view the games content :nope:
In Campaign mode you are forced to complete missions in order to unlock them as you go
The map screen, HUD and interfaces are rather sub standard, in fact they look rather dated and ugly, kinda 90's looking tbh.
Visibility draw distance, dosen't look all the great, but I've yet to play a mission in pefect weather contiditions.
---------------------------------
In short, Its a very enjoyable and fast paced naval shooter/Sim (type thing) and it looks like it could especially be a good blast in mutiplayer.
-but the lack of variety in terms of game modes and NO dynamic campaign are the BIGGEST problems that will seriously hurt replay value.
That said, If PT boats do it for you and youre looking for some WW2 naval action to tie you over until SHV hits the shelves, this is definately worth a look.
P>S, not found any bugs yet
