have have played all simulators il2 1946 you name it , this is not arcade by any means.

middle of the road atm, with time dev team say it will all get improved even more.

In the biggest German Il2 Forum (www.sturmovik.de (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/www.sturmovik.de)) they say it is less realistic than Il2 and one can "feel" in the flight characteristics that it used to be a console game. So it seems this is eye candy only.

what do you mean not being realistic enough? what's realism lacking than in IL-2?

I got the demo t'other day and it's not bad, and yep the graphics are pretty damn good, although the demo won't let you go to the highest 2 settings, it caps you at "high" but it's still good. And the ground scenery is probably the best I've ever seen, it's actually better than FSX and VFR Gen X! As for the realism, it's definately arcadey, although not too bad if you put it on the highest realism mode. tbh I probs won't be buying it, I'm saving for Heavy Rain and GT5 :arrgh!:

Thanks ...I'm not going to buy it if it's too arcade . . .I've already got 2 board games on pre-order each worth a little more than high end PC game and Napoleon on my must buy list. . .:nope:

Good games are coming like Mass Effect 2 . . .gosh hard to resist...so have to pick carefully. . .I wonder what in the world keeping storm of war forever in development?? Don't tell me they are still taking snapshots of European terrain . . . . . .1 km square at a time . . . .

It feels very arcade don't like the feeling a bit . . .gorgeous graphics though Not buying it definitely....

I've played the demo off Steam. It's not BAD. The controls are fine, the graphics are very good, the cockpits well done. But it has a Mission Based Campaign, infinite ammo (and bombs) and an arcadey damage model.
Get the demo, see for yourself. There's 2 missions plus all of the tutorials. No time limit either. A decent mix of sim and arcade but definitely not for hard-core simmers.

One very annoying thing in the bombing mission was that all the Germans seemed to only attack ME. Even on Easy it was very annoying. Dead in one second. Haven't tried the final version tho...
