They're ALL evil, they take time away from subsimming!

Seriously, depends on what you want in a train simulator, the most realistic LOOKING one today is Railworks, but it currently has operational flaws in the AI traffic trains. This guy here;

http://forums.flightsim.com/vbts/showpost.php?p=1486320&postcount=13

Sums up the good points and bad points of each pretty well, what he says about railsim applies to railworks since that's the current version. Playable demos of two different types;

http://www.bigdownload.com/games/rai...imulator-demo/ (http://www.bigdownload.com/games/rail-simulator/pc/rail-simulator-demo/)

Will give you a feel for what each of the two present day competitors run like.

Thanks for the links, been a railroad fan since I was a little kid. Actually got to ride in one of the last steam loco's on the SP line. I was about 6 years old.
Road it from Bakersfield to Van Nuys Ca.

Long story short, I hopped a north bound freight in Van Nuys that always stopped in Northridge but didn't that day. :damn: Ended up in Bakerfield's yard, lost.
Was able to explain enough about where I got on that one of the engineers was able to figure it out. Sent me home in a south bound freight and I screamed and cried till the let me ride in the Loco. Not bad for a 6 year old.:know:
