New to IL2 and have issues

Hi, my mate recently gave me all of his IL2 FB,AEP,PF + PE2 disks after he brought IL2 1946 and are all included. He also gave me his old sidewinder precision pro joystick that has an adapter so it can be plugged into usb. I plugged in the joystick and XP loaded drivers. I loaded up IL2 FB and tryed to have a play but it won't recognise my joystick so i can only use the keyboard. The joystick works with one of my sons childrens game but not with the sim. I uninstalled IL2 FB and reinstalled again but still no joy. Any ideas?.

specs 2.0 GHz single core, 1.5Gb ram, 128 Mb Vid (FX 5200), XP Home with service pack 3

change the steering things far down in the controls and when it dont work again after a while just do it again and it will work.:):yep:
