This has always been a bug for me and I can't figure it out, unless some file left over.
When I play TMO and other mods for TMO I noticed when I took damage and if I clicked on a player on the screen in a damaged compartment, it wouldn't show repairing. I could save and reload and it would then show repairing. Any other damage that patrol it would work fine. If I ported and took damage the men would not show repairing unless I reloaded.
I've since started TMO 1.9 and RSRD, added a few mods and still have the same problem. Backed out all mods but TMO and still have the problem.
Before I started 1.9, did a fresh install, ect. I did load some mods that I had for a long time, but back them out and still have the problem. May try a fresh install on some mods.
So anyone running this setup the next time you get damage, check to see it the man shows watch standing or repairing in that compartment. It doe's make a difference if they're not repairing....
Have dealt with this since TMO 162...can't figure it out.

I've noticed that with TMO too. I also get the "Alt+Tab Suffocation and Silent Running" bugs. Don't know what causes it, just "one of those things."

I never have that problem, damage gets repaired pretty easy.Only thing i noticed is when my deck guns, AA guns take damage, they never repair, usually minor but still.Could be side effects of certain damage zones being tweaked etc, may just have to live with it.

Well, the boat repairs. I'm not sure if it takes longer or not if they show not repairing.
Since I loaded 1.9, I saw the silent running bug....if it's what you're talking about. You try and hit silent running and it doesn't take. Happened the other day. That was the only time. I recall that happening a few times, but I haven't seen it in so long I forgot about it..I docked and it worked fine after that.
Something that I had never seen happen. I had two..spelling here, think Furataka CA's. Been so long since I've seen one if ever. They locked fine all working as normal, sunk one, hit the other with 4 and thought it sunk because it didn't lock on, but it wasn't sunk. When you put the crosshairs on it the name would show in the ID block, but no lock. Even with that I was able to hit it and it finally said it was sinking. Hasn't happened since.
Right now just running easy AOB, 3000 meter took, EAX sound, and 3d gata interior

there are a few "hangs" in the game where things hang up and stop working right, crew on deck underwater, co2 bug, damage repair, engines stop, gun crews wont fire.
most work after you save and reload the game or co2 can be unlocked by clicking the co2 icon to surface that way and a very common thread with them is using alt+tab and sometimes alt+tabbing again will unlock it but not always, its just quirks with the game we have learned to live with.

Oh, I'm willing to live with the bugs as long as I know they're bugs, like the CO2. Seldom get any of the other bugs, except crew under water.
Just haven't heard others mention the crew repair problem, so want to know if it's a bug.

Bubblehead: I read somewhere here, reference the guns not repairing, and someone here said that the boat must be on the surface to do repairs.
Question: Does the crew ever start firing guns as directed with the push button commands?, OR do I always personally have to man the guns myself ? I think I am doing something wrong here.
You have to give the fire order and select the target with the byno's to get the crew to fire

Yeah, what looney said (great handle!)
Someone told me that you have to man the guns in order to be able to repair them, probably surfaced.
Haven't had the chance to test it though.

The only thing I noticed with surface guns is they still work when damaged, just a little slower. I also never really paid attention, but assume you have to be on the surface to repair them. When I'm taking damage belowe, the surface guns are last on my list to repair, so I've usually escaped and surfaced before they are repaired and...then they get fixed.

yes your guns will only be repaired when and if they are manned by your crew because the gun crew is who fixes it
