Game not opening

Hi folks, I've had SH3 on disc for years. I'm not far-off being computer-illiterate, but I had been using the jsgme download package for a couple of years.
Earlier this year I got a virus in my pc, thought I'd learned how to do "system restore".......& wiped my hard drive. :wah:

So I've re-installed it, but after the disc drive starts it, & it completes the disc security check, the icon in the task-bar disappears & nothing else happens.

I play one other game.... GT Legends. (touring car race game) After it was re-installed it played 1st time.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to sort this please?

you might have to move or rename the intro movies; it helped me

I don't know how to find them. Tried putting "video files" into the windows "search" tool. No joy. Guidance please.....:-?

you'll have to manually go into your sh3 folder and make a change

go to ubisoft/silenthunter3/data/movies .... then rename the intro folder to say something different (such as zzzintro) ; then save the changes;

There were no video files. I tried un-installing again & still wouldn't work, but realised I wasn't being asked for the disc code, - so used an additional uninstaller to remove all traces. Hoooooray
