Most of those are just subsidiaries of bigger corporations.
I see no great loss there.
The biggest US company I cringed at the loss of was Consolidated Freightways.

CC opened its first store in 1940. Its roots go back further if you consider the original company "Wards" which started back in the 1930's

I gave up on Circuit City and even would drive 10 miles to Best Buy before going there anymore. The sales people were awful, could barely speak English, couldn't help you when understandable and you would have to trip them in an aisle before they'd notice you. Good riddance!

You know what's on the chopping block, is the Ford Ranger. This one hits me right where it counts. I love that line of truck. It's the perfect all around vehicle, AND it has great gas mileage. I could write on and on why your average joe should go out and buy a ford ranger. Such a great all around vehicle, and it's still made in the USA. The twin falls plant was due to be shut down in 2009, but i hear they've put that off tell 2011.
If that truck ever stops being produced, it will be a major pisser, and a damn tradgedy.

one of the finest things to ever have the name SAAB :yep:
But like they say "All Glory is fleeting."
nothing lasts forever.
EDIT: (Come to think of it i have flown that exact plane)
Sad to see some big names leaving...but not really surprising...
