Man, what a mess. Do these blades feather themselves or can these be feathered so as not to spin?

Needs a-bit of work.

At least there was no flooding or raioactive fallout.

Yes most wind turbines have variable pitch blades and can be feathered and stopped.

I'm guessing this one either malfunctioned or was some sort of stress test. I believe they found the catastrophic failure point :haha:

I'm guessing none. It appeared that the blades were free wheeling with no load on the generator. It had either cut itself off with overvoltage, over current protection or was intentionally disconnected to get maximum rpm out of the blades.

Of course all this is conjecture and I dont know for sure just some observations.
