Hi, im running Sh4 v1.5 with the U-boats addon and AotD. I have so far completed one american career. i have statrted a german one. does the german campaign ever send you home to france, and is the IX-D2 the only boats you get?
thx for your help
Playing the stock game then yes the type IX is your only boat, and no you will not get sent to France.
If you install Operation Monsun though, you get the whole Atlantic war, in Type II, VII and IX boats.

Hello,
100 % agree to Sergei !
Mad e similar experiences, just also installed the U-Boat missions, and was a bit disappointed with the original Ubi add-on product (- but then it was dirt cheap by now, so cannot really complain ;)).
Some FlaK 42 not mannable manually, some strange things, and a historically incorrect Walter U-boat, which did not even look like this used in "U-boat missions", being not really available inreality , and then surely not in the far East. So i did a few missions, not bad, but ...
Then i installed the FOTRS mod from AOTD clan, and it was already better, but then they concentrated on the US career and improvements, not so much U-boat wise.
Until i found and installed Operation Monsun ("OM") and OM Environmental Graphics Update ("OMEGU"). It's quite easy to install with the JSGME mod enabler.
Playing in a german sub is phantastic, you get your school missions, historically correct invasion of Norway, lots of historical correct occurrences with british fleet manoeuvers and whatnot. And you can anytime stay in the atlantic, transfer to France, the mediterranean, and/or to the Pacific - it's all there !
And a historically correct german targeting system, which takes some time to learn, but is then more exact than the original "vanilla" SH 4 german targeting system.
Now i really wonder what could be better in SH5 ;)
Just go for it
