Is that what is called an Enduro where it can be both road and dirt? What CC motor? Two stroke?

I have a Yamaha R1 in Valentino Rossi colours but im looking to sell it as the weather in the UK is constantly wet now and im going to look for a cruiser instead so at least i will be wet & comfortable!!!

Any suggestions for cruisers please post below, i quite like the look of the Yamaha Virago and as im almost 37 years old i could easily ride one wearing my slippers :yeah:

Well, mine is not a crotch rocket, it's an "adventure bike", which is a new term for large displacement enduro. ;)
But it still beats a Harley by a mile.

12-04-09, 10:19 AM
Adventure bike my eye. :haha: That bike will leave your sphincter behind in about a second. :har: So you may not beat the FJ1200 but Harley does not have a chance.

Heh, heh, it's just a 650cc V-twin. It's not all that fast :) It's called adventure because on paper, it has long travel suspension and moderate ground clearance, so on paper it is equipped for the road and dirt. But the exhaust pipe and oil filter are the lowest parts of the bottom of the engine, so it's not really ready for anything but dirt roads and smooth trails. Can't jump any logs on it.

But yeah, I raced a buddy on 1200cc Harley and smoked him. :D

Anyway, back to topic, the mighty Tenere, Hunter, need a pic of you and the bike in gear, mate.

The most fun bike I every had the experience of riding:

http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/1973-kawasaki-z-1-1.jpg (http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/1973-kawasaki-z-1-1.jpg)

1973 Kawaski. 2 stroke. A pain to start but she flew. Short wheel base that would come up on you around corners if you goosed the throttle. This bike was the scarest bike I have had a chance to ride.

Your bike and Hunters bike have come a long way.

I just remember the bike was a two stroke. It had the tank on the side for the oil. It was my soon to be brother in laws bike. I swiped it when he was not looking :har:. I'm almost certain it was a 73 bike. Definitely a two stroke and fast. Very short wheel base and the front would get light if you goosed the throttle when in a cornering situation. Damn scary bike.

Yeah it was. Probably the fastes bike I have had the pleasure in attempting to kill myself. I have driven a Honda CB650, Ninja 500, Night Hawk S. Two other I do not remember the name of. Various dirt bikes. Maybe one day I will get my license :o:haha: Man, I spent a lot of time on the CB650 while in college. Great bike all the way around.

People seem to have quite a lot of accidents with especially quads, not sure why that is. Maybe it kinda feels secure but it can tip over and once you tip that thing over it will kinda crush you. I wouldn't let a little kid drive one of those.

Nice bike Hunter, might come in handy climbing up those hills that you seem to have over there.

Hola Hunter! Congratulations! There's nothing like "The First Bike" -- looks like you got a good one!

In ancient times, this was my first: a '73 Honda CB350, which I bought used for $420. Such a deal! (Mine was not as clean as this one, hehe!)

http://pagesperso-orange.fr/4pat/le_musee_virtuel/images/jpg/honda/cb350_k4_03.jpg

I rode it all the way to the Grand Canyon (1500 mi. round trip) -- in January. And I camped out in the snow. I would not do it the same way today. ;)

Happy Riding!

The real killer was the trike for the dirt. The steering wheel would turn and your sternum would strike the end of the handle bar breaking the sternum. That was the most dangerous. The bike for the dirt was finally banned here in the states as a result.
