For the first time since I started playing this game I have hooked up with an American task force just N/W of Gudelcanel..My question is there anyway to find out exactly where this task force is going?:hmmm:

You could tail it until it gets wherever it's going. Or you could peek at the campaign layers, but it might be hard to find an individual task force.

Well I'm right in with them cruising around 12 knots..I wouldnt have any idea about checking the campaign layers..I guess I'll just have to travel and see where we end up...A fight I hope...:D

You should have an application called "Sh4MissionEditor.exe" in your Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\ directory. Start it, go to File -> Open Normal Mission and go to your Data\Campaigns\Campaign folder. Depending on what year/time of the year it is, you want to open either 42a_US_Taskforce.mis, 42b_US_Taskforce.mis, 43a_US_Taskforce.mis, or BattleofGuadalcanal.mis. (The "42" and 43" is the year, the "a" is January-July [I think], and the "b" is August-December [again, I think].)

With that open, you can look and see where task forces are scripted to be and go. Press "X" to center the screen on your mouse, and use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. You should be able to see square, named formations and little black track marks. The formations are task forces and the little black track marks are the waypoints for the task forces. Find the area you spotted the task force in-game and see what waypoints go through it. If you click on a waypoint you'll highlight the path of whichever taskforce it belongs to. Using that, you can find which task forces go through the area and where they're going, but there may be more than one in the area.

Oh, and by the way DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING, and DON'T SAVE ANYTHING. (Or better yet, make a backup copy before you look at it.)

(Edit- And yes, I did cheat this way to find the TF in my other thread :ping:)
