Welcome aboard!

First, make sure you're using a 1.4 compatible version of TMO. The recent versions of nearly all mods are for 1.5, which you can only get by buying the U-Boat expansion. Here's a list of 1.4 compatible mods, make sure that the version of Trigger Maru that you're using is the one on this list (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=157853).

Second, I've never had bearing overlays range up exactly how they're supposed to; it might even mark a different range at different zoom levels. I'd just mark the range and keep it in mind as what the real value is. I find bearing overlays more useful for the actual overlay to see quickly on what bearing the target is. The ruler is pretty good for determining range, but getting an accurate bearing can be difficult if you're not handy with the tools (or are bad at mental arithmetic, like me).

As Laconic says the range on the plotter is way off, after you get use to things you won't use it for range anyway. Its more of a bearing tool than range. Best it will give you is a poor estimate.

It's always been dead on for me!

What resolution are you using the game at? That can change the scaling.

RR 1920X1200 on a 24" wide screen. Using the standard 1500 yd. TMO plotter. It is actually 950 yd. can't change res. anyway.

Even on my old monitor it was off about the same, don't remember what res. I had.

It's no big deal as I don't use it for range anyway.

It's one of those things you have to live with, such as not being able to sink an Essex.

Hey it was my brain-dead sonar operator! He shoulda warned me!:D

I'll mess with a lot of different screen resolutions (I have a CRT) and see what I can come up with. I know that it will be wrong on most of them. Seems to me that it's optimized for 1280x1024, but I'll let you know.

I'd edit your post again put it back. Who knows, somewhere down the line someone may have the same question and run across it using the "search" feature.

Definately an FYI and a good question. Since everyone is moving to the LCD and wide screens at that a lot can happen to older titles. I am running 1920 by 1080 on a 23" Acer and I was astonished to see this resolution on the SH4 video drop down menu!
