Apparently he doesn't know about the kite. http://ww2history.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_fa330_bachstelze_uboat_kite.
As stated there, using them in the Atlantic would've been suicide. Type IX benefited from them more because of the theaters in which they were used. But Ubi already said that the game would only support the Atlantic theater so I guess there's no point in having the Fa 330 in the game. Plus, I doubt they were used often because it put the pilot in a ton of danger. Maybe only as punishment for bad cooking :haha:

Yeah, the Fa-330 saw some limited use in the South Atlantic and Indian Ocean, but it was for the most part just an interesting footnote in the U-Boat campaign. If the developers included this, you'd have people clamoring next for the more exotic stuff like the rocket launchers and undersea missile system the Germans were experimenting as well. They gotta draw the line somewhere, and keep a focus on the major aspects of the U-Boat.

Well 6 Type IIB's did have rockets, so it's only a matter of time until someone starts a thread howling for all Type II's to have rockets, you know, as what happened in reality and all.
Wait, maybe not, were there rockets in Das Boot? :hmmm:

LOL :DL
I loved Das boot and all, but it was shot using RC Subs & boats, and some rather lousy pyrotechnics (even for 80s TV standards)
Id imagine that SH5 will actually be more visually accurrate in some respects :haha:

Thats what I like about Das Boot, among other things. 80's films just have a sort of look to them, and Das Boot has it. Now if they would remaster it like the Star Wars Trilogy!:hmmm::hmmm::hmmm::yeah:

The movie version.
Their Trajectory looks too random and weird, they couldnt be anything else other than fireworks ImHO,
Maybe when they get closer they switch to some cheaper sparklers? and someones Dad comes round to collect them at the end with glass for water :woot:

that would be awsome!
Another idea...more to our dis advantage though...
USN "K" class Airships (blimps) that were built by Goodyear. This would make stalking of covoys just the more difficult...and better!
I have also wondered if CAM ships will be in the game as well.

Well i guess if the devs included this then modders could include flying all planes .

I really hope they include the Blohm & Voss 138, the one that operated in the Arctic together with U-255

I'm curious - why that one in particular? Why not any of the ~300 that were made and saw service throughout Europe?
I do agree that the BV138 is a must-have plane (indeed, I started a thread back here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111828&highlight=Blohm+Voss)).
Hopefully an esteemed or up and coming plane modder takes this one on for SH5; it would be a very low priority for the game devs, assuming they've included the Fw 200 as they did in SH3. And being a German plane (ie your side) it may not even be a high priority for modders, sadly.
It and the Do.24 (easily my fave flying boat)...

I am working on some aircraft models for SHV (EX-GWX4 left overs mostly)
U.S planes are a safe bet for me because Im 80% certain the devs wont include them because of the same licesning problem that plagued SH4.
However I did want to do a BV 138 or DO-24 as they are fairly obsure, but Allied aircraft take priority TBH.
I will hold off from making any new British or German air units until i see whats on the SHV roster. No one wants duplicates innit.
How how im gonna import new models to SHV to release them as a mod - I haven't a clue, but will cross that bridge when I come to it. i would like to be able to script them in to airbases too if possible - not much point otherwise :)
