SteamWake was really scratchin' his head ( post #34, "A heartbeat public apology" thread ) about my post above his ( #33) about why I questioned Neal about why the time stamp was wrong.
As I did not want to hijack that thread ( again ) I am starting a new one.
Almost all post on this forum ( maybe all of Subsim ? ) have the wrong form of time like 02:11 AM or 02:11PM, neither is right, should be 2:11 AM or 2:11 PM with no zero before the hour.

With the zero before the hour we are talking 24 hr. military time as 02:11 ( AM ) or if in the afternoon/evening 14:11 ( PM )

As a former US Naval person I was/am very use to the 24hr. military time and for a long time I've been wanting to say something about this.

Guess it's no big deal to some of you but to me every time I read a post I notice the time stamp and it just seems strange. WTH I'm strange so I guess I'll get used to it.

Yeah I know, I'm just a nitpicker/rivet counter. :arrgh!:

What type of time do you use when you pilot your Sub/U-Boat ?

So SteamWake quit scratching' your head, you'r probably bald enough. :D

The timestamps are all screwed up lately. It shows that you posted that at 04:43 PM. It is currently 3:26 PM here. And no, I haven't changed anything.

EDIT: and it shows the time of this post being 5:30 PM. what the heck?

I don't know about times being messed up, but as for the '0' problem - i.e. that it should be either military time (02:44 or 14:45) or standard time (2:44 a.m. or 2:45 p.m.), but never '02:45 a.m.' - well, I agree. But I don't know why it is that way either.

It probably belongs in Comments To Subsim Review, but who ever reads that forum (besides Neal, who is the only one who knows what's going on)?

I see what it is doing but not sure why?

Any time AM or PM that is only 3 digits like 3:00 AM or 3:00 PM the forum thinks it should be 4 digits as 03:00 AM/03:00PM.
As soon as ole 10:00 AM/PM rolls around then the forum stamps it right with no 0 before the hour.

Weird.

Needs fixed Neil. Please with sugar on it. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y116/oleman/worthy1.gif

Haha, after reseting the time, my new posts like this one, are coming in an hour ahead of the previous posts.

Oh well, I guess that will resolve itself in 57 minutes :O:

Testing. My forum time is showing "All times are GMT -6. The time now is 09:05 AM." even though it is 8:05am here...

EDIT: Posted this before the previous two

I don't know if there is anything I can do about the extra 0 in 09:05 etc. I think the forum software must be using that as a placeholder. I will see if there are any simple time hacks available for this.

I need to check and see if the server has updated to DST. Maybe that will fix the one hour my posts are off.

EDIT: I reset the server clock, so posts #9 and 10 were actually posted after posts #11 and 12
