Is this the end for the silent hunter community

I cannot believe just how ignorant and self centred some of the community members have become of late for all those who have just witnessed the attack on diving duck
by Another member on the Sub Sim boards will know what I am talking about, this is somewhat the same thing that happen to me on the WAC thread also on Sub Sim I was also spoken to badly by another Modder and I also withdrew my Mods and no longer support WAC.

And then to top it all off after this blatant rude and abusive attack by an Ex-ubi moderator on his forum Manager and his posting in the thread of the PERSONAL Messages between his forum manager and himself that resulted in him being removed as a UBI forum moderator and also being banning/Brigged for 7 days.
He today posted here on Sub Sim that he is surprised to see a new Thread containing a how-to on removing Starforce from the game (even though he was given this work around to use long before the nasty stuff started)
He claims credit for this and says he would do it all again.
Do what make himself look a complete A**hole surly once is more than enough.

And then for him to be backed up by his Fellow site Members just shows the ongoing attitude of their forum were whatever it takes to achieve something they want is justified no matter how low they sink.

These are sad times for the Silent Hunter Community and no wonder the viewing and posting figures have badly dropped off recently on all the sites. :nope:

You want a little cheese with that whine? You've only been a member here since May 2008 and so you may not have a real sense of how the ebb and flow works here at subsim.

In my experience here both as a Moderator and a member, this is a quality house owned and run by a quality guy. There is an enormous amount of talent here, and with that comes a lot of ego, drama and disagreement. Nature of the beast.

Of late? It's always been that way in one form or another. The difference is most people on subsim are intelligent, so when they go at each others throats, it's not always so blatantly obvious.

Hey now, i didn't start crap (at least not usually ), i just called it out in frank terms when i saw it. Where others would get crafty and subtle, i'd have the attitude of, "ok, let's cut the politically correct BS and say what we're really thinking here." It doesn't win me any browny points with anybody, but at least you always know where i stand. I think people worry about their forum reps too much.

There is a secret to rising above all that. It's simple. Just don't care. This sort of drama is the norm. It came up before, it will come up again, and when you have strong/creative minds bouncing around in one place, probably unavoidable. People are going to do what they're going to do, they are how they are, and nothing will ever change that. In the end, this is just a video game, it's not worth getting all bent out of shape over (took me awhile to realize that), and this isn't the end of the silent hunter community, this is business as usual.

You get over it pretty quickly though when you realise you aren't the first or the last or the best.

Saying that SCX, DWX or whatever for the SCS stuff hasn't come anywhere close to SH levels of dummy spitting and tantrums.

It's all the "old guard" here. Myself included. Being honest, most of the drama (in whatever form) in silent hunter begins with all the old guard modders from the early days of SH3. Everyone has a history, an ego of one form or another, and long memories; again, myself included. If all the old guard disappeared, 90% of the drama probably would too. Sometimes i wonder what this place would be like, if all of us disappeared entirely.

Shut up you big cry baby. If I didn't post that private message in public, those NoCD files would not be public. "The workaround" you speak of was not good enough for me, and was not the way the Ubisoft German forums were doing it. She wanted me to sneak the files via PM, while other forums could publicly do it. When I posted that private conversation, I did it to humiliate her in front of everyone to show how helpless she actually was. And if you would take a look elsewhere, you'll discover that I gave Jimbuna some of the credit.

I did this for those who already owned a copy of SH3 before the newer versions came out with the files already included. I did this for the entire community, not just members of the Ubi Forums.

This whining you are always doing is one of the reasons I don't want you on my forum. That's all you ever do is cry about stuff, which is what got you suspended from Subsim a few years ago when you went under the name Phoenix1957. The others supported me because I was fighting for something that is needed, and how ms-kleaneasy was doing nothing about it. So I put my moderator status in jeopardy to prove that point. Guess what Steve, mission accomplished!!!!!!!
