Hi everyone Im new, and this question may be posted somewheres else but i havnt found it, so heres my problem I got up to patrol 11 with the first flotilla, i am at HQ and i cant access my personal files or my uboat loadout screen.....but i can access the options and map, so i figured its just part of the campaign, so i started the game and looked at my orders and patrol location "NULL" and it said return to base at brest, on my map the brest port doesnt show up ....im confused and dont know where to go and why i cant access my files and uboat loadout and why its telling me to go to a port that doesnt exist "now" ....can someone help me :arrgh!:
thanks,
mike

You have been transferred to a new base. You would normally have received a radio message about it during the previous patrol. Since you are not at your home base right now (Wilhelshaven?), you cannot access some areas in port. A patrol grid of NULL simply means 'go to your new base and report in'.
Are you sure Brest isn't there? It is located on the very western tip of the southern shore of the channel. I seem to remember there being a bug in the stock game that caused Brest to disappear, but I can no longer recall the details.
You can try looking here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=157866) if you need more information.

Yeah...this happened to me too. I was transferred from St. Nazaire to Brest. If you have it SH Commander can let you know if you have transferred. That's how I found out. So..I sailed to Brest and was able to access everything once there.

Just start heading toward France.
Brest will eventualy show up on your chart.
Patrol Grid: Null = No Patrol Grid Renown.
You still get credit for anything you sink.
Optional Orders from "BDU" (No Renown for grid);
Patrol Grid AM53.
Hopefuly you'll enjoy my favorite Type VIIB grid.
Plenty to keep you busy in there.
