I found about this little gem yesterday. The atmosphere is amazing and the graphics just take you in. I have a constant Fringe feeling when playing it. Plus, there are codes to break for all you cryptology lovers and some minigames. The gene hacking part one and two can get a tad annoying, yet you get over it and then it really begins.

Here's a link to one of the review. And if you do join, reading the guides on the forums is actually a must.

I used to play REAL aternate reality games back a few years ago (complete with physicly meeting with characters, gathering real world clues, deciphering codes, IM chats, phone calls, etc...)

I was involved in AWARE ,which was in my opinion the best ARG ever run, I also played "The Beast" which was Microsoft's ARG and probably the world's first ARG. I got involved for a little while in "I Love Bees" which was run by the makers of HALO 2 as well, but I didn't follow that one after a while because they had too many players. By the time a puzzle was found, it was already solved by someone. So many people were playing that when I would log into the forums where people were discussing it, I would have to spend all day just reading the HUNDREDS of updates.

By far, the coolest thing that ever happened to me while playing an ARG, was when we found this code that we deciphered, and it became an address, a couple of letters, and a few numbers. Researching the address revealed that it was a public library in a town in northeast Connecticut and we reasoned that the letters and numbers were dewey decimal system. So, living in Connecticut, I drove out there and looked up the book. There was an envelope in the book with some top secret information for us to dissect.
Lots of fun !
