View Full Version : Stationary ship
Recieved a radar contact for a stationary target in the middle of the Celebes sea. Plotted course to intercept and watched my target. After 20 "game" minutes I found the target to be moving s l o w l y in a northerly direction at about a third of a knot. Determined speed with the nomograph, but had to triple the distance the ship was moving to "plot" a speed of 1 knot, then divided to get the actual speed. My hydrophone operator never heard the target, even when I was less than 1000 feet! I thought the game was trying to "ambush" me I appoached the target at silent running, min silotte, p depth (though I was thinking about approaching deeper my hull had already been quite shot up). Fired 2 torps using the PK, both duds, fired again, Dud, fired the fourth and she went down all Hollywood. The IJN wanted me to get some practice I guess!

I think I rain into the same ship one time. He almost looks like he is stationary but infact he is going about a knot. If I remember correctly the ship did come alive and was actively pursuing me.

theres a sonar fix mod by vickers03 that fixes the sonar sounds for all the ships and that might be something you need depending on what mods your using
Yeah, that might be what I need, Webster. I love your ship manuevering fix. Right now I'm running TMO 1.7, RSRD and your manuever fix. I do notice that my sonar operator doesn't hear at all even though the green light goes off.

well it wont help your deaf sonar man, thats a game issue thing but at least YOU will be able to hear them.
the sonar fix for stock ships is in my manuvering fix but it doesnt cover any newer added ships so go ahead and try adding the sonar fix for TMO on top of it and i think that will cure it
Okay will try - I just ended my patrol so I'm at a good place to add a mod.
Thanks, Webster
