Hey guys,
I have an idea about destroyers and stuff in the game. The problem with the game is that there seemingly are hundreds of Asashio class destroyers, when in reality, in the real war, there were only 10 of them built. So, how could you use them for convoy escort when there so few of them? :haha: I was wondering if we could somehow cut down on the numbers of Asashio class destroyers in the war. The Japanese overall did not build very many types of a particular class of destroyer and used them mainly for fleet escort and convoys, if they were particularly significant, like for an invasion force, but did not really use them to escort convoys until 1944. I did some research on the topic, and I was wondering if anyone could improve the number of destroyers and cut them down. The Japanese Navy in actuality, was very short of destroyers and ships to escort convoys during the war because of the shortage of destroyers on other fronts that were sunk in other fleet actions during the war.

I also looked at the list of Asashio class destroyers as presented by http://www.globalsecurity.org, one of the biggest military security sites on the net.
The Japanese only escorted convoys if they were important or of military value. They preferred not to use their destroyers, frigates, etc. for convoy escort.
