View Full Version : Period/Comma views all messed up

Recently installed an add-on, that messed up my period and comma views ( . + , )

I won't say what the add-on was, but I wound up removing it and going back to what I had, but the views are still buggered.

When a ship is sighted, you hit "." twice, first to view your own boat, then the target. When I hit the "." now, the camera switches to way up in the sky, where I can rotate it at weird angles, till it falls into the sea.

Any ideas on what to do to fix this?

Main mods are GWX3+Commander.

Sounds like your camera.dat file is all screwed up. I would uninstall all mods and see if it solves the problem. If it does, try checking your mods for this file (data/library/camera) and see which one or ones have changed this file, add the mod and see what happens.
If this doesn't work, you might be in for a new install.

Irish is correct, I get that intermittently on a couple of my installs.

When you reboot the game it should right itself though :hmmm:

Hmm, have launched SH3 about 3 times now since the problem first exhibited itself. Nothing has corrected yet, probably won't.

It's not a big deal, I do like having the option of seeing what I'm firing at without having to free-cam out to the target.

I will live with the issue rather that reinstall the whole works.

BTW, it was a GUI I had installed - trying something new. Rolled back to the GWX version though, like it better .

Just thought of something, if it is the camera.dat file, would swapping it out with one that works properly work ie somebody else's copy that isn't messed up?

Make a JSGME mod install with another GWX camera file and activate it to see. I can send you one if you don't have it. PM me with your email address if you need it.

Ah-ha! Regional settings show my komputer was speaking Kanuckian! Nah, that can't be it. Not a bad idea though.

Irish, I'll take you up on that offer - I don't have a copy of GWX base files download, rather than redownload the whole thing just to get one dinky little file out - email works alot easier.

How do you JSGME a single file though?

Just create a new folder under MODS and then place the folders in there as if it were in the game's data folder (eg data\cfg). Place the file in the folder it belongs in. Hope that made some sense.
