troubles after Nortons update

I just renewed my Nortons subscription, and since then I have had many serious slowdowns, and temporary freezes while running SH4. Are there any adjustments that I might make to get it running back to normal? thanks! Joe S

I assume you have Norton to scan in the background while you work or play on your computer? If that's the case I think that disabling the background scan each time you play SH4 should work.

I would recommend you get rid of Norton. There are several excellent FREE alternatives... try www.avast.com (free home edition) - second choice would be AVG - www.avg.com - I honestly do not think Norton is as good as either one of these free options.

Even tho I am behind a Linux based Smoothwall - I still run AVAST on all the LAN workstations. It works great and never interferes with gameplay - and of course scan scheduling is available so you can set it to run while you sleep.
