Maybe not right to start a new topic for this but im just so reeeeally happy with one thing!
And that thing is the GWX mod, one word...WWWWOW!
I downloaded the mod few days ago, got a litle trouble, got the answear on this forum and now everything works really well.
So the bottom line is this.... Thank you :)
I would like to just say a big THANK YOU to the GWX team for making a good game so much better for me by giving off your time! Fantastic job you did there and i cant stop playing this game with the mod.

Totally 100% agree with your comments matey, for me, I spent years modding this game with a total mod output of 88 mods. The strange thing is I never played/committed to one career patrol..not one. My time was spent going in and out of the game looking and testing my mods.

Only just recently I've put the mod cap away (temporary) and replaced it with the white U-boat captain's cap. I'm using the following for total detailed immersion;

1. GWX 30;
2. SHIII Commander;
3. SH3 Gen version 0.82; and
4. WaW Transformer.

Utilizing the WaW website to truly become a hardcore SHIII U-boat captain.

To the original poster....Very appropriate to create a thread for this. The GWX team put their heart and soul into this mod...a mod that has kept me playing since thier first release, and playing it still today.

In fact I just hit a convoy in calm seas with a 5 DD escort. Was aiming at a Ammunition Ship (on my bow) and a Med Cargo (on my stern). I made it past the DD screen and was smack in the middle of the convoy. Just as I was lining my shots up (all 1,000m or less) the DD escorting the rear of the convoy started pinging me. Swing the periscope around and see 3 other DDs turning my direction.

Oh CRAP.... quickly get my fish out...CRASH DIVE....Make your depth 170m!!! As I slipped deeper, using the convoy for cover as I retreated to the rear of the convoy.

Well 2 hours later (12 hours of game time)...with 4 DD's working as a team...2 listenting, 2 actively pinging me...they finally gave up.

I am always amazed by the DD behavior with GWX... so improved.... I dont think even SH5 will offer the challenge GWX does.

I just loaded this "uber-mod" and I have to say, "WOWZERS!!". Just adds more enjoyment to the game. My hats off to those that created these awesome Modifications.:)

the GWX resureccted SH3 for me. the only sad part is that there are a few übermods, and it would be nice to have them all :D, i know its nigh impossible, but one can always dream?

i just want to point out that there are a few other mods too, that deserves some credits. that said, i have only tested GWX yet due to harddrive space limitation...

agreed! I installed GWX 3.0 (after a little donation to help the subsim cause). This is the first time I've ever played the mod. WOW!!!! SHIII is a totally new game. thanks guys!!!

Having had to take compulsory shore leave not long after getting to grips with GWX2, GWX3 Gold was a real 'Welcome Back' present for me when I got back on the bridge a few weeks ago. You guys never cease to amaze me. Well done and thank you for all your hard work. :salute:
