Was trying to remember how you can change the deck gun values in the program files so you can use the deck gun in a storm. Anybody can explain where to find them? Thank you.

And here i've been wondering how in the hell i could get rough weather to effect deck armarment again like in SH3. :damn:

At any rate the file is /data/submarine/NSS_whatever/NSS_whatever.cfg

wind and rain conditions therein.

I don't follow you... what's wrong with the deck guns in a storm?

Wrong forum maybe? Being that's an issue with SH3 but not SH4.

Ducimus, one time in heavy weather the gun crew effed off below (ie the view switched from gunsights to control room all by itself).

I was running TMO 1.7

Hope that makes you happy.

That happens when a sufficiently high wave washes over the deck. You can jump right back into the gun as soon as it's passed with no harm. In fact the deck gun will continue to reload while washed out.

Absolutely nothing! That's the problem. Now if someone was to say to me, "dude, its BS you can man your guns in an 7 or 8 kt wind!" I'd be nodding my head in agreement. However in a 12 to 15 kt wind, I think it's time to have the weather effect you a little bit.

The thing is, this functionality, as far as i can tell, is broken. Riddle me this, when was the last time you saw crewman in SH4 don their wet weather gear in a 15 kt wind like they can in SH3?

I've been at sea in 40/50 knot winds, on a surfboard and a low decked ship... it's not that bad and quiet managable. The problem with the game engine is that it associates swell size to wind speed which is not correct - you can get high winds with virtually no swell size
:)
