Hi all!

I have already post a reply in the thread of nefeladamon's excellent tutorial.
Basically I prefer joegrundman's method to nefeladamon's when near the enemy coast because in enemy controlled airspace, surfacing might be unwise. Because I found some points a little confusing, I rewrote joegrundman's original guide.

Comments very much welcome!

Link to joegrundman's original guide as well as an altered is-was base wheel showing meters instead of yards (inside of folder):

Hello all, I just joined subsim this morning since I've been wondering what other methods there are besides nefeldamon's (I hope that's how you spell his name) hydrophone hunt tutorial. Of course I have all the basic skills down of evasion tactics, convoy approach, and multiple targeting with the periscope. My question is two-fold. 1. What are some methods to performing night attacks in SH3? 2. Are there any other hydrophone methods? I have been using nefeldamon's method, and it works great as long as the target maintains its speed and heading. There's nothing more annoying than doing all the work to get lined up on the target, only to have her change course and send all my invaluable fish sailing off into the deep blue without even coming close.:damn:
On a side note....I have the Steam version of SH3 and I'm curious to know if I can play GWX on it and how to properly download it.
Thanks for all your help, it's a pleasure to be aboard! :salute:

Hi,

There is a tutorial I'm sure using the active sonar, but I don't have the link for it. I think Dantenoc made a video of it. It used to be on my filefront page, but those guys like to remove stuff once and a while. But searching should come up with threads and links. And maybe Youtube still has them.

But this was just posted into the SH5 section:

so what about conducting surface attacks at night with the TBT? for me it's always too dark to even see the ship much less target them. Any suggestions?
