I am not sure at all if I am going to be able to run SH5.

I can run SH4 on medium easily with a 1.73ghz single core Pentium, and a NVIDIA GeForce G0 6800 running at 128mb I think.

The question is, will this be able to handle SH5? Even if it can't im sure SH4 is enough to hold me over for a lifetime.

On my old PC I could also run sh4 , just with 1.6 Ghz Amd, 1 G Ram, and a Radeon 9600 Pro video card 256 mb, and set on medium details

Not sure what the mimium specs will be, from what I heard my guess is that the 'recomended' will something along the lines of a duel core cpu, 1 - 2GB Ram, and 512mb card such as an 8800GT/9600GT.

I reckon the game is going to be a little beyond your machine spec capabilities....go for a dual core, 2GB ram minimum and a decent video card (9000 range or better).

I'd say 9800GT minimum, if you're gonna upgrade at this time. :yep:

Make that a 9600GT, since it is very very close to 9800GT performance (pricing reflects this)
Also remeber that the 9800GT - is in fact a 8800GT in discuise.
They are the EXACT same card.

64 SPs VS 112 SPs (unified shaders, stream processors, whatever)

Go with the 9800GT, it's got nearly twice the shader-capacity. ;)

Yes, 9800GT is the same as 8800GT (just slight core revision). But you can't buy 8800GT anymore, or rather, you shouldn't unless it's actually cheaper than the 9800GT.

Just reinstalled a 'replacement' GTX 275 from Scan.co.uk, heres hoping this one dont screw up /over heat? after a few days :stare:
If its good then i am flogging my trusty XFX 9800GT 512mb (for about £70-80 in case anyone in the UK is interested) only had it a year but it served me well :)
Only upgraded because I have bit of cash saved up and didnt know what else to buy....

LOL just seen some nutter selling the same card I have for £170!! on Amazon.

Wow, such a brutal thread :wah:

Yes this laptop is getting old, but considering I don't have a job, and I am broke I'm stuck with it.

Even though I am going to be 16 in a few months, the job market here is horrible we are at %10 unemployment and I would be competing with college grads for flipping burgers..

That said, I am not sure when I will ever get the money to build a new laptop before navy time at 18.
