Hi guys,

Are there any games based around the current conflict in Iraq/Afghanistan other than Call of Duty?

Thanks.

Arma with the listed mods should be pretty comprehensive. Some people(I know Dowly does) rate this combination above Arma2 because not all these are out or work correctly with A2 yet.

ACE (http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/A.C.E_Advanced_Combat_Environment)
A realism mod with plenty of gameplay changes, new units(including insurgents and Iraqi army), vehicles, weapons and other stuff.
ACE Islands pack (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3000)
A big pack of islands. Includes a few desert ones, as well as the original OFP-islands + more. Island is btw just a generic term for a map in Arma, not all of them are actually islands.
Avgani and Afghan village (http://www.kellys-heroes.eu/files/addons/opx.7z)
Two islands. Avgani is based on the northern Iraqi city of Avgani with its surrounding areas, while I believe Afghan village is just a generic village from Afghanistan. Both are extremely well done.
Sakakah-Al-Jawf (http://www.armedassault.info/index.php?cat=islands&id=12&setlang=en)
An island based on a city in northern Saudi-Arabia. Made by the same guys as the two above.
Missions for those (http://www.armaholic.com/list.php?c=arma_missions)

There was going to be Six Days in Fallujah,
Six Days in Fallujah lets players experience the historic battle of Fallujah as a US Marine fire-team leader and places them in the heat of the action against the insurgency. Players are able to physically shape the battlefield just as US Marines did during the battle in Fallujah. Create new lines of attack by kicking in doors, blowing up walls, eliminating enemy cover and destroying the environment around them. To make the battle even more authentic, heavy emphasis has been put into the environments using real world satellite maps, weapons from US Marines and vehicles used in the conflict to fully immerse players in this epic confrontation and experience what it was like to be a Marine on the ground. In addition, Six Days in Fallujah will include multiplayer functionality - allowing players to team up with other fire team members in co-op and online modes.

But after Konami backed out of the publishers spot due to controversy, Atomic games is struggling to find another publisher, and may be closing its doors for good.
