Is there a way to increase the torpedo power when running under the U-Boat expansion pack; I already have the x 2 power on the normal SH4; I find I’m wasting Torpedoes on destroyers who can take 3-hits and still float..,.:damn:

dunno - i sink most DDs with one fish - german campaign 1.5 stock
but i dont care about them too much, i rather try and get the big targets and disappear again. saving my fish for the worthy targets all along...

The problem is not how much damage the torpedo does. It's the damage zone on ships. Im guessing the bow on allied tin can's isn't covered with a damage zone. If you really want to fudge it, try increasing the min/max damage radius on the torpedo's and see if that does anything for you. Since the game only does an armor factor check once as i recall, you'll probably have uber efficient torpedo's.

I’m probably revealing my lack of skill here; so I take it you guys squeak the target areas on each victim-ship; and not just use the default lock settings? LOL ok – I’ll do a bit more advance targeting. :DL

:) Hi everyone.
There is a way to tweek torpedo power, Armor-Pearcing and Splash Damage.
Use the program for editing the files .ZON and .SIM (S3D_v099.zip) and look at
Torpedo_US.SIM and Torpedo_US.ZON Located in:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Library
Edit file with Silent 3ditor (v0.9.9) or similar located in Silent Hunter 4 Downloads.
Example:
(-)amun_AcouticTorpedo
(-) amun_Torpedo
type = Mk27TorpUS
depth = 1.2
max_dive_angle = 10.0
(+) Speeds [1]
max_turn_angle = 180.0
......
and in Torpedoes_US.dat:
(-) AmmoDamageInfo
MinEF = 1000.0 (Minimum Damage)
MaxEF = 2000.0 (Max Damage)
AP = 100.0 (Armor-Pearcing effectiness)
MinRadius = 5.0 (5 meters Min Splash damage)
MaxRadius = 10.0 (10 meters Max Splash Damage)
You just need to look inside Tordedoes_US.SIM, .dat and .ZON files to change torpedo settings.
