:hmmm:

Has anyone else noticed that the SH4 start-up screen seems to display a portion of the current 50 star U.S. flag in it's graphics, rather than the historically correct 48 star (6x8=48 straight) star field of it's time in WW2?

Yep, everybody noticed that when the game first came out. I'm sure if you look waaaaaay back in the forum you can find a thread about it. And the historical inaccuracies don't stop there either I'm afraid. Guns on a BB where there were never guns at all mounted, etc etc.

Talk about filtering the past through the present! It's as fascinating as the future as portrayed in the past and how inaccurate that turned out to be. It's the Heisenburg Uncertainty Principle effect: the very act of looking at the past from our vantage point changes our perception of that past into something that never was.

I must be too much of a newbie to remember those flag observations of the past. Good independent observation of something that had escaped my notice! Thanks for filling in the Subsim history, ETR. That was interesting.

Yea it was noticed... over and over and...

anyhow in all fairness the game is produced by Romainians :salute:

I dont think there was any filters applied here other than oversight.

No wonder they went back to the atlantic :D

RFB fixes it though.
