Really i find the lack of any concrete information disturbing. Ok we had the Q&A but after reading that in 5 minutes i feel like a heroine addict that just smoked mariauna while what he really wants is the smack! and by that i mean lots of new screenies and footage. I know i,ve been nagging about this a couple of other times and yes i know that sooner or later there will be more info. I think i,m just dissapointed by the fact that the subsim meet didnt yield any screenshots and very very little new info. when sh-3 was in development there was a lot more stuff 6 months before its release. I mean what are the devs trying to hide? SH-5 is the only subsim in development in the whole world so i cant imagine why there should be this cloak of secrecy.

The Devs have nothing to do with what information is released prior to the release of the game. Hopefully, they are busy working hard optimizing the game and not worrying about how it's being marketed.

What is the big deal about wanting information about a game due for release next March? Start asking these questions at Christmas time and you might actually get some realistic answers. :)

I'd never complain about getting more updates but I honestly don't see how much more could be released in these early stages of development.

There is always the possibility that anything announced too early could later be withdrawn due to unforeseen difficulties.

@ Oscar - mate you seriously need to take break from SHV and your demands for more regular updates, at least for a few months.
I mean just forget about it for while and play some of the other great games out there. Time will pass much quicker that way, trust me
Weekly (or even monthly) development updates just aint gonna happen.

All valid points until it got AH.

The bit released at SubSim meet might not make it to final release either.

There is a Zen saying that reads, "Slow down and the thing you are chasing will come around and chase you." :yep:

I really dont know why you are so pumped. The fact is that it will be released in a dismal state to be semi-fixed later. Really?....think about it...REALLY

You're right. I'm sure there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth upon release because someone's pet feature like first person nightclubs with full polygon hookers and champagne didn't make it into the final game. People that are this antsy now will be the hardest to please.

I would say the devs are too busy to post at the moment because they are busy trying to put wolfpacks in the game . No time for anything else .

I just hope they learned from SHIV mistake and instead give us an actual game that is better than SHIII.

I like what I'm seeing to now but I liked what I was seeing with SHIV then. And SHIV turned out to me to be a major flop.

A smart game please. No arcadish half working game with stupid interface. It's a SIM.

As someone who develops software for a living, I can assure you that their marketing and legal departments put the clamp down on info release because of the possibility of features being removed late in the cycle due to time constraints or unexpected difficulties.

Imagine if they announced wolfpacks were in the game, then realized in January that that they were just too difficult to get working. The subsim servers would literally melt down.

Actually they just announced that wolf packs would be in the game IF they get the time and resources.

Not exactly...

"For the time being we are focused on single submarine and interaction between player and crew.
Wolfpack system and it's implementation is still being internaly discussed within company, so it is too early to seriously talk about it."

My English translation - of reply in new interview.
( Alexandru Gris for one regional PC magazine, October09 )

Please, don't force me to translate in English topic by topic... ;)

It seems to be a serious simulation with real decisions what to do in action, when to do it, from which department in sub, realistic periscope and torp action...etc.
Allied forces would not be passive, they could change a convoy route because of your presence, send escorts to search for you, sinking of capital ship could change the balance in region, ...etc...etc.
It should be more simulation than SH3.
It seems - they know very well their job.

(Still it would be "scalable" so light-players could simplify things to have more fun in game - instead of sweating in hardcore sim)

I personally like their resolute effort to improve every visual aspect of sea and scenery - compared to SH4... (many deatils)

That's enough Adriatico, get lost to bad...
