First I laughed, but then I realised that advertizing like this borders fraud, imo. It's like advertising a car but not telling that it has no wheels.

:dead:
In medieval, they had this wonderful thing, the pillory. I deeply regret that we do not have it anymore, and that pillorying a sentenced deliquent is not being done anymore because it might prove to be damaging to his future social chances. Putting somebody into shame still is a very effective stimulus to make somebody change his behaviour. the worst fraudsters are those who never have been made ashamed, knowing no shame therefore.
:har: Having been there several times I can also account for the fact that it is in the arse end of nowhere, with the only access to civilisation being through a couple of small roads and a narrow gauge railway ;)
And of course, the two (soon to be one) nuclear power stations.

If I read such an advert, sit in a car and travel three hours just to find something like in this case, I would be pissed, and very much so. That I would not buy it, doesn't change that. And then three hours back home.

I wonder if their advertising slogans say something like "Why use a night light and waste power? Chernobyl table water, drink and glow today!"

I think I'd rather live near the nuke plant than here. Oil refinery in the background. BTW this is also in the UK.

:hmmm:
I'll let you know :yeah:
Having just bought a house i'm quite familiar with the tactics of real estate agents. They're just not going to put negatives on the advert and it's silly to expect them to start.
Nor would it really be necessary for them to do so because all one has to do nowadays is to check out the neighborhood via Google earth before making an appointment.
One would hardly miss such things like nearby power plants.

hmm.... I wonder what the people who went to go look at this house were told by the agent...
People= whats that place...
agent= nothing, that is nothing...
people= its deffinently something
agent= huh I seriously see nothing
people= wait it has a sing... nu... honey I cant read it all...
agent= oah that is just a factory... it makes pellows fluffy pellows...
people= oah... ok...:rotfl2:

Pfft, that powerplant would make a perfect place to hide and stockpile ammo and food in case of a Zombie apocalypse. I'd rather live near it than in the middle of rural nowhereland where you have a nice view but can find no cover from the undead hordes.

What would happen to the stations staff though? Presumably the automated systems would kick in and shut the reactor down but eventual decay could cause problems. Plus, zombies are immune to radiation exposure are they not? So you'd have radioactive zombies coming after you.
However, nearby the powerstation there is a lighthouse :rock: Which is open to the public, and with only one door in you can barricade it up and have enough room to stockpile food and stuff.
Of course, you've got a LONG way to go to get to any food, the nearest town is several miles away, and where there's population there will be zombies.
You've also got the problem of French zombies coming ashore after walking the channel. :hmmm:
EDIT: Oh yeah, and water supplies, the whole area is virtually on the sea level (it's reclaimed) so you'd need to find a way of getting fresh water.

Would French zombies give up at the first shot fired though?
Task Force

ofcourse the french zombies would take to there natural actions and surrender...
IMPOSSIABLE!!! the station would shutdown and the zombies would think. (if they do think...)
Oah there isnt anyone in there... its a shutdown powerstation... and go get oberon!!! (the french zombies would get hunter and schroeder... lol):rotfl2:

Not sure if the Zombies are resistant to radiation, I don't think they aren't, after all, they retain their old human tissue (However twisted).
Either way, if you manage to get a group of people and clear the place of the former operators, it would be much safer than a bunch of buildings where you could be cut off very easily by the hordes.
As for French zombies...I have no good solution...

Sounds like my kind of place!
When I retire for good, I'm selling everything and moving way out to West Texas and living in a Unibomber shack.

Lol, they can probably do that!
There are a couple of interesting little tidbits down at Dungeness from the war, theres a couple of sounding mirrors on the beach:
http://www.ajg41.plus.com/images/mirror/dungeness10.jpg
And some small remnants of the second PLUTO link.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/31834495@N08/3053651331/
As well as Captain Howeys little train set, the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.

But aside from that, it's flat, from horizon to horizon there's barely a hedge to stop the wind, trees? Forget it, most of them are either killed by the salt or bent sideways by the wind. But there's something rather romantic in that desolation, a sense of abandonment, which works well until you're hungry, it's late at night and there's nothing in the fridge... :hmmm:
Oh, and Raptor, for the French zombies, teams equipped with:
http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff259/sdbadeaux/DSC05221.jpg
And padded jackets/face masks might do the trick.
Failing that, there's the burning sea project that they trialed in the war, that might work :hmmm: Until the petrol ran out though :damn:
