another quick question for ya . Playing GWX 2 , mid July 1940 , sailing out of Wilhelmshaven for CG 85 which it a pretty long haul . My starting orders are to return to Wilhelmshaven after patrol . I've gott'n alot of radio messages ( i know these are random messages for realism purposes ) for various subs to return to new bases in France . How will I find out about such a transfer for the good ol U-45 ? I've never made it that far to find out ... thanx

I think you will get a message /Base was changed to Lorient/ if you are on patrol. Alternatively, If you start a new patrol from Wilhemshaven you might see sthg like:
Start Base: Wilhemshaven
Return to Base: Lorient

Dont worry, you will get informed, eitherway.
