Is Obama's information correct or is yet another failure of "intelligence" on the horizon? Another WMD story?

President Obama, along with the leaders of Britain and France, will "regret" accusing Iran of hiding a nuclear facility, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday.

Could be. That is why I ask. Recall the "intelligence" with Iraq and WMD that well...never materialized. :hmmm:

Yeesh... next thing he'll say is that Iran wasn't concealing it at all and that it was totally in plain sight in New York City when it detonated.

I'm sick and tired of all this BS. Iran has every right in a free society to develope nuclear weapons.

All the rest of the world do's is walk around sqawking like a chicken and acting like a ostrich.

If and when Iran uses or sells one that is used on another country, swift and immediate retaliation by other nations is used on Iran.

Then the country formally known as Iran will be a memory and a reminder to the rest of the world that their irresponsible actions won't be tollerated.

I don't give 10yrs before a nuke is used on a country somewhere because the rest of the World has shown so much weakness.

The clock is ticking.

I do think that it's only a matter of time. I think it was in the movie Peacemaker (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119874/) when the female agent said "I'm not worried about the dictator who wants to add 10 missiles to his arsenal, I'm worried about the bastard who wants just one". Iran reminds me of that statement for some reason.

The Doomsday Clock has already considered Iran into it's equation two years ago. The only thing that worries me is the SOB has already made statements about wiping other countries off of the face of the earth and denied the Holocaust happened. He's a nutjob, in power, just like Saddam was.

I don't know if it was an intelligence failure in Iraq. Just because they didn't find them, doesn't mean they didn't exist. It was debated for a year in public, plenty of time to move/relocate/hide them. They may still be there. They may be somewhere else. They may have never existed. Hopefully, we won't find out the hard way.

For those not familiar with the Doomsday clock, the time-line is a good read.

It's now 5 minutes to midnight. It hasn't been that close since 1984.

Summary of this thread:

There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.

Exactly. This "We can have them, but you cant" situation is just plain silly if you ask me.

Just being realistic. If past nutcase leaders like Hitler, Stalin and a few others would have had Nukes.

Do you honestly beleive they would have stopped with two ?

Stalin had the bomb. And you know why don't we (as in the US, UK, Russia) stop dismantling our bombs and just hand them out like candy!:nope: There's a reason some people don't like the idea of Iran, Iraq or insert 3rd world county here, having nuclear capability.

Saddam was quite sane compared to ahmadinnerjacket.

If both the above had the capability I am convinced the latter (when taking into account the anti west stance of the governing elite) would be far more likely to use them.

There's is something about those who feel it is glorious and better to become a martyr in death that absolutely terrifies me.

Yeah and that dislike is directly proportional to the chances that the nuke will be used, either by the government that builds it or the shadowy extremist group they give it to.

What is plain silly is that some people are supportive of a brutal dictatorship getting nuclear weapons.

In the name of PEACE, of all things.
"Peace for our time", huh?
